10 minutes into his first game as a Red Wing, Brad May takes a fighting major. A Martin Lapointe-type fight, one where a few punches are thrown, and a wrestling match ensues.

Lundqvist just let in a shot from center ice, I'm sure you'll be able to find it on youtube soon enough.

The Rangers still pulled out a win off of 2 3rd period Gaborik goals. Man I hope he stays healthy all season.

I hope so too, sounds like an awesome game.

For some reason Cox is not giving us a free preview of Center Ice. :(

Dear God,
Please don't let this be the Boston Bruins team for the rest season. Can you give them that ability to goal scores back?

Your friend,
Eagles

He has really shined in New York thus far, and I definitely agree that if he's healthy, he's a huge asset to that Rangers team. The Rangers have a chance to be very good if they can stay healthy. The East this year is really up for grabs. I love Atlanta out East, they've added a lot of pieces to their puzzle, and once they get Lehtonen back, they're a playoff team as well.

Who's played a worst game against an Anaheim team tonight: the Red Sox "hitters" or the Bruins? Hmmmm...

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

Dany Heatley is pretty good at hockey.

I enjoyed Hal Gill losing a fight to Rick Rypien.

They talked about that fight on XM Home Ice yesterday for about 10 minutes straight. The call of the fight was extremely funny. "That's Gill dropping the gloves with... with who now?"

You get a lot of (aside: completely crazy) guys like Rypien in the WHL. It's fun to see one make the N, although I assume he's never more than one good thrashing away from the dustbin.

In other news, anyone see Okposo last night? He is also a fair lad with the stick and skates.

This is a game the Rangers would have lost last year.

Once the Rangers went down in a game, especially in the third period on the road, it was over.

Hank makes a blunder to allow Wash back into the game and then they score again getting all momentum on their side...What does Gaborik do?

Takes the puck solo makes a move to free himself up for a shot in the high slot and beats Theo five hole to tie the game at three just 18 seconds later.

Then he scores the game winner a little over two minutes later. The Rangers havent had this type of player in a very long time. It's refreshing to finally see that we have a guy we can look to for the big goal.

Obviously, health is still a big question, but I've said this since the first game, this team has very good potential IF Gaborik stays healthy.

Very impressed with their play so far after four games. I know it's still early but this team has been doing a lot of the little things you just didnt see last season.

The growth of Del Zotto and Gilroy on the blue line will he a big key this season and Kotalik running the PP as well.

The Nashville Herb Brooks kid did his monologue for the Preds', who are using it as in-game entertainment.

Dany Heatley is pretty good at hockey.

That was a nice welcome to San Jose he had.

Nabby still sucked and our defense is atrocious, but man, if we can keep it in the offensive zone like we did last night, who cares!
