"Huge save by Toskala...just kidding."

That was pretty great. Kinda makes you feel bad for Leafs fans, though.

Yeah, still funny as hell though.

Favorite Lines:

"But Toskala came really close on that one...one of his better efforts of the season."

"With the Bruins up 6-0, watch this hand-eye coordination as Luke Schenn scores on a beautiful tip...although we should point out it was into his own net."

"...And Mikhail Grabovski adds one of his own to pull the Leafs within 13. I tell ya, you can always count on this kid to come through in a tight game."

Why was Bobby Orr in that game late? Awful awful sportsmanship by Sinden/Guidolen/Cherry/Cheevers/O'Reilly/Milbury/Sutter/Burns/Davis...

Flyers looking to trade per Puck Daddy.

Could a certain St. Louis Blues goaltender find himself at the Ty Conklin Invitational January 1st at Fenway? :D

With Emery out for a while, and having to lean on Bryan Boucher? Nah, say it ain't so. ;)

New coach, new game plan, lots of new players, same old "rely on Lundqvist to steal points" Rangers.

Except I continue to hear more and more gripes from fellow Ranger fans thinking Lundqvist is to blame...

I just dont get it:confused: .

We have two good players on our team. Lundqvist and Gaborik.

The rest are medicore average to below average.

But I'm sure something will happen and either Lundqvist will be a complete wall and give up 1 goal every night or the second and third lines will magically start producing a few points here and there to give us enough points to qualify as the 6th or 7th seed in the playoffs.

Lundqvist other than the last game has been pretty average this season. He has been incredibly vulnerable glove side high, and he stays on his goal line and doesn't come out and challenge enough at all. The last game was an amazing performance, but the year as a whole has been nowhere near the level he normally plays at.

With that being said, this Rangers team does not deserve to make the playoffs b/c they don't have very much talent. They need secondary scoring, and more veteran presence on the defense. They are not going to survive having 2 or 3 rookies playing on defense every game for the whole season.

Nice job by the Wings to get the come-from-behind OT win. I needed that after Tech epic failed in the last minute of regulation.

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

What the hell happened to the Blues

They were just crusing behind 2 Backes goals; Edmonton looked lost. I switched the channel and forgot about it, and see now that they got lit up for 4 in the 3rd and the Oil win 5-3

Those fine folks at St. Louis Blues Game Time might commit mass suicide.

Re: The 2009-10 NHL regular season thread: Slightly less meaningless hockey

It's a Martin Havlat sighting  The Wild beat Calgary in OT!

I don't want to say Tampa Bay is a dirty team.

But I have no problem typing it.

Extremley frustrating loss for the Bruins to the Flyers. They came out flat in the 3rd period, blew their 1-0 lead, and then allowed the go ahead goal a few minutes later.

Not to blame the loss on the refs but they sucked tonight. The Bruins had a goal called off 3 minutes into the game for no reason at all. It was in the net way before the whistle, I just dont get it.

While on a delayed Flyers penalty the whistle was blown while the Bruins had clear possession of the puck and we're setting up to rush up ice.

Late in the 3rd Zdeno Chara is clearly tripped and he crashed head first into the boards.

After a couple of the goals Bryzgalov gave up tonight, this vid seems appropriate. :D

The play that led to the ENG that iced the game was awful. I don't remember who it was, but when he misfired the pass, he should have circled back and regrouped to give the forwards time to clear the zone. You cannot just dump the puck in deep in that situation - your players still have to clear, so Philly's obviously going to be the first to get the puck, and, because they're on the PK, they can just fire it at the empty net. Gotta play smarter than that.

Nice try by Le Habs clock operator.
Great finish.
