Well at least the Rangers are more exciting to watch this year. I have a feeling its gonna take them a few games to really get things together though.

I could agree with you more.

Then again, it is the first game of the season. It's possible that the Blues simply hired out some Swedish babes to stand behind the Blues net in the third period though. And perhaps one to distract Osgood too. That way the Blues would win.

And Vokoun was awesome... however, in a goaltending duel, I don't know many who would pick Huet over Vokoun anyways...

Someone should tell Toronto that the game has started. 3-0 WAS after 1.

I believe that opening night was the worst thing that could have happened to the Hurricanes this evening. Bruins are up 5-0 and we're not even through the 2nd.

Tavares with his first NHL goal and assist in his first game against the Pens.

The kid looks good and might be the savior of the Islanders franchise.

Bruins up 6-1 on the Hurricanes. Currently each team has five men in the penalty box hahaha

Anyone watching the Montreal game? I heard O'byrne went off with an injury, what happened?

Amazing character win tonight by the Cardiac Kids. Down to 16 skaters for the last 43 minutes of the game, they show a lot of heart and steal another one, with Gionta popping in the winner in OT on a nifty bat in.

Oh, and Carey Price? Another stellar effort. He's got a terrible team in front of him, and he throws up another gem - about 34 saves.

I'll take this team, flaws and all, over last year's quitters.

All they said was that it was a lower body injury. But I did enjoy the video of pummeling Kaleta from the preseason.

They really need his physical presence, and he's been strong throughout the preseason and the first game and a period.

Um, the Hurricanes played a game already too and got shut out by Philly.

At least the Bruins had some heart this year, right? I mean... Who needs that stuff in the playoffs!?
