NCAA Hoops: Duke, North Carolina (yes, I get the rivalry and know it doesn't make a lick of sense but I like both schools)

That's awesome. I'm always a little leary of expressing my love of dirt track racing in fear of being called a hick. Austin is the man. I've liked him ever since I saw him wheel a late model 3 years ago. I love the fact he does the Ricky Bobby celebration when he wins.

RIP: MN Fighting Pike Arena Football team. Existed one year. Had season tickets at midfield, 4 rows from the field. Once they folded, I lost interest in the league. :(

NFLer's Reggie Brown and Mike Vanderjagt were members of the Pike team. And a then-little-known Kurt Warner played for the Iowa Barnstormers, who played the Fighting Pike in the FP's first home game. I'll pat myself on the back and say that I called it, when I said the Rams would be okay when Warner had to step up when Trent Green went down. :D

Funny thing is that all 50 states have dirt tracks... Not exactly a "southern" thing, ha ha ;) Austin can drive a car, that's for sure... I really wouldn't mind seeing him try his hand at some of the Midwest races honestly.... Tons to go around between the Hell Tour, the Lucas Series, and the few WoO shows out this way... Totally understand why he stays with the WoO though...

I think I started (or was close to) that trend. Since I got sick of people making a post and then someone else calling them on it and them saying "hey, i don't root for that team".

If I had to pick a bounceyball team it would be the Celtics (i grew up with the Bird teams) and occasionally the Wolves.

Kid that got me into watching hockey when I was 12 was a Sharks fan, and to a 12 year old that barely understood the rules at that time, the teal jerseys helped. I'm 90% sure that he was one of those kids whose parents moved all over, which helps explain why another Sharks fan showed up in Michigan immediately after the team was born. He was gone within two years, IIRC, and none of us can remember his name.

Ironically, I'm reasonably certain that it wasn't much of a fandom for me until the 93-94 playoffs, and if the Wings had won that series, I probably could have been turned back to Detroit. So I guess I could blame Osgood for not letting me appreciate 4 Stanley Cups in my lifetime.
