Nice surprise for Raymond to get to move up after the Everblades season ended in the ECHL playoffs. He finished the ECHL season with the Florida Everblades with a line of (69 gp, 7g, 24a, 31 pts., +25) and was named to the ECHL All Rookie Team. Everblades Press Release on his signing with Binghamton

Man am I glad that I live in Binghamton for the Summer! I just bought my tix for the BSens game and I'm wearing my RIT Jersey tomorrow :)

Madolora vs Ruby is definitely the top / most interesting storyline heading into 2011-12.

Sounds like there could be worse things than a Madolora and Ruby duo each weekend.

Can't forget about Watson either. He came in from the BCHL with some decent credentials last year. INCH had him listed as the #4 incoming goalie last year. No one in the AHA will have the depth in the nets that the Tigers do, and I'd even venture to guess that our #3 will be head and shoulders better than anyone elses #1. None of these guys look like "designated door openers" to me. Definitely should be an interesting competition in the fall. Downside is that that I'd be willing to guess that next season may be the last for Madolora as he may be an early departure.

I think I can forget about Watson, really. He was not very good in any of his starts and never really looked comfortable in net when I saw him. He also gave up a ton of rebounds. I still think Madolora is the defacto starter unless he struggles, though. So maybe it will be Ruby / Watson for whose number 2.

So you're giving up on freshman goaltender already? I agree that Madolora is certainly the incumbent and the job is his to loose, but Watson should get some decent playing time early in the season and let see what he can do before dismissing him. Remember Madolora wasn't exactly Patrick Roy out there in his freshman season.

So based on 167 minutes over 4 games early in his freshman season we should discount him????? My guess is that after a 3 man rotation in October and November we arrive at: #1-Madolora, #2-Watson, #3-Ruby. I'd also guess you might see a little of the workload shared going down the stretch to keep everybody fresh.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Offseason 2011 - Dreaming About 2011-2012 <<<<<

Well we all seem to agree that Madolora is #1, and given everything out there about Ruby it's hard to imagine that he will be a bust, although it's certainly possible. And given that Madolora started every game down the stretch last year even after we have clinched the division, I don't see any reason to expect something different this coming year. Wilson is going to stick with his number 1 and keep him hot heading into the playoffs.

Ruby and Watson's playtime will come early in the year and against non-conference opponents, similar to Roponnen last year.

Div III is the lowest of the four classifications, but Israel won the tourney, so I assme they will be back to Div II next year.

Israel's in a tough spot. They're far too good for Div III but struggle mightily in Div II.

I think you got the order right. I don't see the freshman coming in and sub-planting Madolora or Watson in the order you listed.

5 months and a week to go........

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS - Offseason 2011 - Dreaming About 2011-2012 <<<<<

One interesting aspect this upcoming season is that RIT won't have a lot of non-conference games before the conference season starts, based on what is known. RPI and Union come Thanksgiving weekend, The pair at Wisconsin are in December, and the Catamount Classic is a holiday tournament. That leaves St. Lawrence for Brick City weekend. It also leaves the conference games for earlier in October.

I don't think you can assume anything when it comes to goaltending. Madolora's performance was impressive but given talent around him he is going to have to perform with expectations. I would also not write off Watson. I felt he never really got a fair chance. Both games I saw him were games where the team in front of him played poorly. I think there is another level the kid has that we have not seen yet..

Gotta see if the Alumni chapters out here int he Midwest will be doing an event for the Badger game. Would like to see the Chicago chapter work a trip.

Nothing works better to keep #1 at his best than to have two other guys in the wings fully capable of taking his job. Just looking at the way Wilson and Hill have worked in the past makes me feel that the job is Madoloras to lose, with Watson his chief competition. They haven't appeared to put too much pressure or expectations on freshmen in the past. While Ruby hasn't shown much in the RBC tourney this week (3-2 & 5-2 losses) his record the past 2 years is still pretty impressive. Watson was considered the best goalie out of the BCHL last season, much like Michael Garteig out of Powell River this year, who is heading to Quinnipiac next year.

Is there any word yet on your conference schedule? It'd be nice to fill in at least something for Atlantic (instead of just the non-conference rumors).

Not yet. AHA teams are some of the last teams to release schedules, and they typically start early June. Check out my AHA composite schedule for what we know this far: www.tinyurl.com/ahacomp

Thank you. As a fair trade, here's what I have thus far; you may be able to fill in a few blanks on yours (though this is the entire Division I, not just Atlantic): https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...vSmVRclNwRHFuRVE&hl=en&authkey=CK695cwJ#gid=0
You can also find it on the 2011-2012 Season Schedules thread. Fairly similar format to yours (unrealized, of course). It is open to update should you have further information; I haven't included league games at the bottom since those are pretty much a given as to who plays who (with the exception of CCHA since I don't know their pod structure).
