Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' The Ritter For Another Year

My math still has a a win and a tie necessary to avoid a Co-Champion Title shared with SHU. Of course if it comes to that, we would have first seed because of tiebreakers.

2 more points and RIT has the #1 since they will have the tie breaker against Sacred Heart.

3 more points to clinch the Regular Season Title Out right per league rules. All though 2 points and Sacred Heart would have to sweep Holy Cross and Air Force to try and catch RIT. RIT has clinched a home playoff spot for frist round.

What will be the most interesting match up for me will be the last weeknd of Sacred Heart and Air Force. That could very well decide the #2 seed and last change advantage in the Semis....

SAAC is attempting another white-out, and presenting a check to Hillside Children’s Center before the game

I guess SAAC didn't get the feedback when they did this last year. It should be an Orange-out, not a white-out.

But we want to be like big name bouncy ball schools!

I vote for a brown out (burnt umber out?), cause I want the ritter to look like its full of tootsie rolls

If its too loud, you're too old! :D

Welcome to the board. It can be a touch loud but generally I like it. I feel like the BCA is too quiet. My main problem has been the selection of music lately. There is one song is particular that sounds like a Ricky Martin song or something... Playing Black Eyed Peas - I Got a Feeling when Ritchie is skating around with the RIT flag under a spotlight I thought was a good touch. It seemed to get the crowd going. It always seemed awkward before. I want Metallica - For Whom the Bell Tolls blasting before the puck drops again though :)

I do approve of the 2 Rise Against songs that are part of the warm up mix, it just needs to be fewer songs.

I am too old, there is no doubt about that. But I don't have a problem with the music selections at all. I understand that Perry Como would probably not work very well.

Maybe the problem is with the volume balance. I usually sit right in the corner next to the DJ booth and there is a speaker pointed directly at me. The DJ booth probably does not get the volume I get. However, it seems to me that some discretion could be used as to when the music should be blasted, and when it should not be. My only objection is that it seems to take the crowd out of the game at times. If the crowd is already making a lot of noise about something, maybe the DJ could choose not to blast the music at that time, or play the music at a lower volume.

Thanks everyone for advice on getting tickets last week. I'm excited for my first trip to RIT, we'll be going to the game Friday night. I'm most likely going to wear my Michigan jersey...so if you see a girl wearing Michigan colors Friday, feel free to say "hi".

I think what he is concerned about is how the course content will be split up. Typically Physics 1 is an intro course, with physics 2 being mechanical, and physics 3 dealing with electricity (current, voltage, magnetic fields, etc.). The way I figure, you could just combine physics 1 content into physics 2, seeing as physics 1 is a pretty useless course. Physics 3 could then be expanded to involve more material, which I felt it lacked when I took it.
Feel free to ignore the comments of this outsider, but I was interested reading your thread.

I went to an engineering school that was on semesters, I took 16-18 credit hours per semester. The example quoted above seems to be simple to me in that I took physics 1 which was mechanical (3 credit lecture 1 credit lab) and physics 2 was electrical (3 credit lecture 1 credit lab). Is an intro necessary? Haven't most kids attending RIT had some Physics in high school? My high school physics was a joke, and I was behind most of the kids in my class. Maybe an intro course would have helped me, but I think it would have been tedious for 85% of the students.

Good luck with the switch. There will be trade-offs, obviously. I enjoyed my degree that I earned on a semester schedule. I had few classes that were degree requirements which I didn't enjoy. I liked the amount of electives I had. That's not to say there aren't classes I would have found intersting and taken had I had time; I preferred to spend 2-3 elective hours a year on band. I was able to graduate in 4 years (8 semesters) with AP credits and 1 summer class. There are many schools out there that prepare students for the workforce and are on the semester system. Is it better? Maybe for some students, maybe worse for others. Good luck with your changes.

/outsiders opinion knowing very little about the scheduling at RIT

No more quarters vs semester posts below this line, please resume speculating about possible new arena, OOC games and if they mean anything, and whether we have a scoring problem among the forwards or not instead :D

Blackout sounds more intriguing. We've tried white out, brown outs and orange outs before but not successfully.. let's shoot for a blackout

Orange is dominant color of the school, get over it and wear orange...

Thoughts on if Madelora gets into a game or two before the season is out? If RIT has cliched everything, I would expect he would get into at least the Friday Canisius game.

I would not be at all surprised to see him starting a game or two if we clinch. But he won't start them all because DeMike can't get cold with playoffs right around the corner.

I figure DeMike starts Friday and Senior Night at least. Madelora I would think might play Friday against Canisius.

I am willing to bet that Madelora starts at least one of the Canisius games. It probably doesn't matter which one.

Don't we have a weekend off after Canisius before the 2 out of 3 playoff weekend?

Yep. Canisius is the last week of February. We will have a week off, and that weekend is the AHA play-in game (only for teams 7 through 10). The week after that, March 12-14, is the 2-of-3 quarterfinals.

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' The Ritter For Another Year

I was just thinking about the goalie question today and wondering if the Tigers are finishing a bit more strongly here because there has been just one starter and whether that will serve the team better come playoff time?

If that is the case, I see DeMichiel starting all the rest of the games, but perhaps leaving after a period or two in some of them to give Madolora some needed experience.

Based on past years when RIT has clinched everything, Coach Wilson will play the backups. Who knows - maybe we see Roppenen.

What happened at Army this weekend, and why hasn't this been talked about (unless I missed it)?

#1) Fight at end of game
http://www.collegehockeystats.net/0910/boxes/marmrit1.f13

#2) Army AD apologizing for RIT's actions of the bench
http://www.goarmysports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=48075&SPID=4588&DB_OEM_ID=11100&ATCLID=204888604

There is a thread about it and we really didn't talk about it. I don't have a clear idea either. I tried looking for a youtube video but there wasn't anything. From what I gather the refs didn't control the game, Mazur threw a elbow at the end (apparently on some dude who just got over a concussion). Army took exception and jumped Smith. Apparently there was "vulgar" language heard from the RIT bench. Of course all of Army's fans and players are perfect saints so RIT is just a bunch of goons so Army's AD "apologized" for our behavior.

I know they have some code of conduct for the cadets that attend games but who knows what is said on the ice...

Re: >>>>> RIT TIGERS 2009-2010 <<<<< Rockin' The Ritter For Another Year

That right there is a tasteless and classless move by Army's AD. I don't care how "vulgar" the language got, you address it privately; you don't say "I'm sorry RIT's a bunch of loudmouth jerks who don't know how to behave like proper gentlemen".

There will be equivalent educational hours when the total degree requirements are worked out. Also, the number of electives will not be much different with the 5-for-3 choice. They would have been reduced alot had the 4-for-4 semester choice been made.

I still count 8 fewer classes over four years, only some of which will be made up by combining full-year classes.
