Yet the "oaf" has won three AHA championship games and one game in the NCAAs. DeMichel's been there four years. How many conference championship games has he even played in?
The numbers are pretty even (.917 sv % to .914, 4 SO to 3) and other posters have pointed out that
1) Volkening saved the first RIT "goal."
2) It would have been 6-2 without him.
RIT definitely has a stronger team right now, but that doesn't make Volkening inept. And, if you like "flashy" saves, try this one on for size:

Volkening is just a big oaf of a goalie with oversized pads, he takes a lot of net up but DeMichel is definitely more talented and can make that flashy big save when needed. .
