Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #184: The 2016 Frozen Four

First day in the new office building. I have to admit, it's a nice view from the 14th floor when all the closest buildings are under ten floors. Other than that, though, the commute took longer, the water and ice machine has a funky sensor on it which will take some getting used to, and TP they use is now 10% scratchier.

After many dormant years, my trout fishing bug has hit me hard again.

I grew up trout fishing way up north in the Nicollet National Forest and when I went to college and then was busy with life and all that, I eventually just stopped doing what was always my favorite way to fish.

Have been scouting for locations closer than the western part of the state (where a buddy has land and there are many streams) as I don't always want to drive 45 minutes.

Tried a stream for a few minutes today that is along the bike path that I've been riding on for the past 10-15 years and is supposedly a trout stream. Pulled several little browns and then a 13 incher out after about 15 minutes.

Always assumed that I wouldn't be able to get much of anything close to Madison as it would be over fished.

Wrong!

This stream is about 3 miles from my house where I now sit typing this and the brown is gutted and cooling off a bit. :D

I can buzz over there at any time now.

Can't wait!

Was awakened by an AMBER alert on my phone this morning, from Detroit. Not cool - thought I had turned those off. The siren noise the FEMA alerts make is *ing loud, for a moment in my morning haze I thought it was a Presidential one and we were under attack or something.

And you wouldn't be sitting down.

Speaking of urinals, we have these weird "waterless" urinals. The drain looks like a giant bathtub plug that's not been fully engaged.

Oh, and speaking of bathrooms in general, on the wall outside the men's bathroom there's a sign that reads "Touchdown West". You have to go at least 15 feet to your right to find the next door along that wall. But on the other side of that wall, just around the corner maybe six feet away when you go to the left, sits the entrance to the men's bathroom. What the hell do they expect to happen in that particular men's bathroom? I checked the other end of the floor, the bathroom over there is not labeled "Touchdown East."

This mess here with the Legislature and the potential consolidation and all that is PO'ing me big time.

It's warm, sunny, and windy here which, along with our very dry winter, is making things like a tinder box here in Anchorage. If Anchorage gets through this summer without a major wildfire I'll be surprised. They already had to contain a large brush fire this weekend.

They expect people to SCORE!

Good Morning Lodge.

And that was just in the Seawolves thread on USCHO!;)

So Clown the building must be LEED Platinum I assume?
LEED Platinum, yes. LEED Pain In The ***, IMO.

TIL my Miata apparently came from the factory with the Popular Equipment Package, which includes, among other things, a Torsen limited slip differential.

Awwwwwww hell yes. We're going to be a very bad boy.
