So the name he finally came up with was Support Headquarters Information Technology?

Sadly, it was the mundane Application Support Team. Seriously, the manager was this sweet old man who just didn't like using acronyms, he never called any team by its acronym. The acronyms were always reserved for the actual technology, according to their industry names, like SQL.

At work, there is Long Term Disability, and.....Short Term Disability. :D When I was in Boy Scouts, they had Student Helpers In Training.

On a darker note:

Got to work today, and found out that my truck driver/loader (who shuttles stuff in his cube truck between the two buildings) apparently had a heart attack on the way to the job (in the cube truck) and crashed it. And the news doesn't look good. :(

Dude always had a smile on his face, cheerful, and although his English was far from good, we still communicated fine (he's from Cuba, and he was supposed to be headed back there for a vacation soon). On top of that, when he was on a trial employment for the job (he actually works for a trucking company), he had asked what we thought of his work, and frankly, he's the best we've had in a decade. That made him so proud, as he thought he might not have the physicality to do the job (he MIGHT be 5'3" 110, MAYBE).

I really hope he makes it. The guy is awesome.

Good Morning Lodge.

Sorry Hoven. Hope he makes it.

Oh, on the boat search front - spotted one on Craigslist late yesterday that looked awesome. Texted the guy right away and got a reply "Gone." It had been posted for 2 hours. I replied "Would you consider a higher offer. If not, keep me in mind if they back out." By the time I got home he texted back "sold." If all he posted was true it was easily priced $1,000 low, maybe $2,000. Dang it, gonna go look at a couple others tonight.

Morning.

It's looking more and more like I'll be a home (loan) owner at the end of the month.

Only steps left are a 3rd party inspection, a walk through and the closing.

Got some good news today. Driver is out of ICU, and they are waiting for him to come out of his coma (their words, so I assume it's medically induced and he will wake up, assuming things go as planned). Hoping for no brain damage, obviously he will not be back for a while, if ever. The owner of the trucking company was training a new guy in today, and he was the source of the info. Owner is a really cool guy, and we were laughing about how Driver was ALWAYS cheerful and full of pep, etc. We both have a good feeling about Driver making it through this crap. So, there's hope.

Gorgeous day today, and it gets better as the weekend approaches/happens. A buddy has an outdoor shindig on Saturday, and the nice weather is a HUGE plus.

Good Morning Lodge.

Looked at two more boats last night, both pretty good. May make an offer on one of them today.

Brent, glad the guy is doing better.

I've owned boats before, it's not like I'm unaware.

A boat is a hole in the water that you pour money into...

The trout were most definitely not victorious today.

I know what's for dinner. :)
