Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #184: The 2016 Frozen Four

It may have officially died today, but to many it really died four years ago.

Another death amongst us. We had...HAD the last tailgate lot this past year, and now it doesn't even matter. So p*ed. An annual mini-vacation is now dead, at least for every other year. But the writing is on the wall. Thanks, Barry.

Good Morning Lodge!

Took a walk in the garden this morning, coffee in hand. It is glorious to be able to walk in the garden and see everything emerging, filling out.

Was awakened by an AMBER alert on my phone this morning, from Detroit. Not cool - thought I had turned those off. The siren noise the FEMA alerts make is *ing loud, for a moment in my morning haze I thought it was a Presidential one and we were under attack or something.

Tornadoes only would be my preference. Basically things you need to wake people up for

The company finally gave formal names to the new buildings we started occupying this week: Tower 68 and Tower 69. What the Corporate Properties group lacks in imagination they make up for in lack of innuendo awareness.

Tech tried to build the Center for Learning Information Technology a few years ago. That got vetoed quickly.

I've posted this in the past, but one of the tech teams here was assigned with changing its name after a re-org. The group's manager submitted, in good faith, the name Trust Information Technology Support, and announced it to the group of other managers (of which my manager was a member). That manager was told to come back with a new name, which ended up being Application Support Services. He was given a third chance, and finally nailed it. Truth be told, if you'd ever met the guy, you would completely understand that he was putting forth those names with a totally innocent intent, just wasn't considering the acronyms.

Maybe his team "helped" him come up with the first two.;)

Today... the trout were victorious.

Found a new spot though a few miles upstream where the water runs clear and a bunch of springs drain into it. It's only another few miles to the headwaters.

Saw lots of what I assume are brookies, but unfortunately, they easily saw me too and skeedaddled more often than not before I could even cast. Fvckers!

Needed to be on the other side of the stream as my side had the cut banks. Next time I'll cross downstream and move up and get them...

So the name he finally came up with was Support Headquarters Information Technology?
