There IS something just serene about a campfire and the wilderness. I do miss it. The woman and I do want to take the kids camping some weekend this summer. I still have a 9-person tent from my camping days. Yes, I like my roominess with a large tent. :o

My best summer memories all involve the lake. It's great.

Our high school team has done a BWCA trip every year since 2006. My three years were an absolute blast. I may have to go this year again as a coach.:)

I got neg repped for ponies again. I'm finding this fact very, very disturbing.
 Did you not pick the right color pony? Must spread.

Where is RFAlph?? Has snowmageddon immobilized his intertubes?

Back to work.

Anyone want to go to Mankato next Saturday night? We're looking for someone to go down there with us. We don't want to just go down there by ourselves, and if no one goes we're thinking of going to the AA championship instead.

Hey Goldy, Let me know if you want to do anything with turkey hunting....I have to say, the way the winter is going, its not looking good for there being decent turkey hunting during the first season. But if you want to give a go, I can head down there with you some Saturday.

Yowza, that's ridiculous. Any reason?

Good morning Lodge and Happy Monday. Took today off as well. I was supposed to go to NYC yesterday to go to the Bruins/Rangers game but cancelled because of this storm we were supposed to get. Once I booked my last minute trip to Dallas for Tuesday, I was very worried I would get stuck there given that they were saying we were going to get 6+" of snow and it would be happening when I would be heading home. Grrrrr! Not one flake here. I'm glad I took the day off regardless because I was up late last night watching the Oscars. And I have to pack. I still have some work to deal with today as well but the fact that I didn't have to wake up and commute in a snow storm - that's an OK tradeoff.

I do. I may not hunt, the first season permit is for me and it's no big deal if I don't hunt. Jr is still under 17 so he can get a youth permit anytime and it's more important that he gets a chance. So we can go to one of the later seasons and I think you as a landowner can do the same. He is going to shoot trap for the BSM team this spring and I think we're going to get him a Remington 870 pump soon. He's been doing much better with his study habits so it's a bit of a reward for that.

ETA: Morning Lodge
