Morning, Lodge.

When does water start pouring through your living room ceiling? At 4pm on Friday at the start of a 3 day weekend, of course! No plumbers available for 72+ hourse! Awesome. They're here now, cutting through the drywall. Good times.

Whiner, 49er!!! :D

Holy Crap. The girl who was sitting with Jr. at the high school game on Saturday is now asking him out to other stuff. Learned she is on the Edina Competition Cheer team who won all but one of their local competitions and went to nationals where they finished 23rd. He has not been going out with girls, at all, so far. Huge sea change here.

Only allow him to drive the car with the smallest of backseats.

I got my appraisal back for my refi. It was $50k higher than my house was appraised for when I bought it 3 years ago. I guess the money and work I've put into it have paid off. This amounts to a major boost for fiance and I financially, and wedding $$$ worries are essentially out the window. I am very, very relieved.

C'mon...

Get him a van with a mattress in the back. They're only young once.

That's for her parents to consider, or his buddies to lend.

One of my friends bought a mid-80's Dodge Ram in high school and kept a full three-seat couch in the bed until his parents vociferously objected for some reason.

Yeah, a buddy of mine when I was about 7 or 8 (1978 or so) had an older brother who was in high school and had the van with artwork on the side (a dragon or warrior or something equally dorktastic) and he had a mattress in the back.

At the time and at that age, I couldn't understand why you'd have a mattress in the back.

Ah, the seventies...

:)

As long as the front seats recline, he'll be good to go.

The Imprezza is pretty small and with the center console he's going to have to really work on his flexibility. I'm sure she'll be fine with the cheer training and all.

Do teenagers in Edina really get busy in cars? Wouldn't they rent a limo or get a room at the Westin? ;)

I expect most of them would go that route, but Jr doesn't have that kind of money. We live on the wrong side of the tracks in Edina.

That's my retirement pipe dream. Sell EVERYTHING I own, customize the hell out of a camper van/RV, and live out my days cruising the country and doing whatever comes to mind.

Well, maybe without the whole swinger thing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

Ouch. Were you able to tread water long enough to keep your head above the water?

I should have added that the stream of water ran out after the tub directly overhead had finished draining.

EDIT: I see know that my comment reads a little differently, coming as it does in the middle of a swingers' van thread. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

I've been taking an assigned online training course this morning and trying so hard not to fall asleep. I've paused it a few times now to get up and walk around. It's not helping. People around here are going to hear some really loud snoring soon.

Did the girl grow up on the right side of the tracks? :p ;)

I don't know. I'll have to look her up in the school directory from a couple years ago when I get home. It's getting harder to tell these days though as there have been so many tear-downs and McMansions built over on our side that go for up to $1M. I may have to actually drive by the house to find out. That's not too creepy is it? ;)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

You keep complaining about this. Maybe now that you have adult-like responsibilities, you should get onto an adult-like sleep schedule. :p

It's one thing if you're just a typical college student and can sleep in and skip morning class Thursday if you go out drinking on Wednesday. It's another if you have coaching duties or work duties that you have to get up for.

I've actually been doing the best I can to do just that. Especially last week when I was getting up to watch the USA games. Sometimes it's just not possible with hockey and school work needing to be completed though. My goal is 6-7 hours a night, which usually gives me enough energy to get through the days.
