Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

I went in for some testing today, looking to lose weight. They had me step on a machine that is a scale and also shot some electrical current through my feet and out some grips i held in my hands, and this is supposed to measure how much I would at 0% body fat. At 0% body fat, I would weight 196.5lbs. I was expecting a smaller number than that; I'm only 5'10.785".

I'm no doctor but 0% body fat sounds dangerously unhealthy. And it would be surprising for a 5'10" male with no fat to weigh as much as 196.

You must be big-boned.

I think I am at about 5-6% body fat at best, and I'm taller than 5'10" and I am not even close to 196.

Work was dead, took a half day to run some errands. No traffic on the roads I was on, although 394 didn't get plowed until well after 9am.

230 is my goal. I use to power lift, so I have a decent amount of muscle on my body. When I had my shoulder surgery last year, that doctor even made comment about the amount of muscle he had to cut through before he could fix it. I wouldn't doubt that as I start losing weight that my goal number will drop.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #172: Did you see your shadow?

Three years ago I played at 195. My high school coach wanted me there, and my junior coach wanted me at about 200, which I would've reached had I not been cut in training camp. I'm now about 215 with considerably less muscle..but I can eat what I want, drink beer, etc. and I enjoy that rather than putting a ton of strain on my body and being awfully particular in my diet. I'd like to get to 200 or so by the first of May, which should be attainable with less time wrapped up in hockey, but we'll see.

Good Luck Clown, you'll get to 230!

Right now, I'm sitting at 6'2", 242. By the end of the year, I'd like to land between 190-210.

Here at BU for my first game here since January 8th. It's like I never left. Get my place ready at the *HT. I'll be there shortly.

Good evening Lodge.

Today is my Friday.

In a couple days I will be heading up north to spend a few days in a fish house. Catching fish, playing cards/cribbage, drinking beverages, hanging with good friends and just generally killing brain cells are on the agenda.

Heck ya! I downloaded a cribbage app on my Kindle a while back. Love it. Have fun out there.

Cribbage sounds good. Wish I had a playing partner... I have a board and a deck of cards, but no one with which to play. Makes me a sad panda.

With the group I will be hanging with it's all cut throat. Absolutely no hauling lumber though.

Beauty. I assume then, you steal the points? I have not played that way, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. ;)

And I do miss me some 3-person cribbage. Whole new set of strategeries there.

We usually start out playing regular crib. Once all the rust is gone we play cut throat just to mix it up a bit. If you count your hand and miss any points and I catch it......your points are my points. Keeps you on your toes.

Only way to play. :D
