POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

I started watching that this morning and was late to work because of it. I only got halfway through. She just totally bugs me. Didn't answer anything directly. From what I saw, I thought he did a good job trying to show the hypocrisy and all she did was repeat the same old stuff.

"I'm a millenial, I don't like labels."
"So, you don't like labels, but you just labeled yourself?"
"Well, I'm a millenial, so..."

She never did say how people are supposed to protest since she's against kneeling and marching.

Also you have to be a little strange to think supporting gay rights is "tolerant." You tolerate something like Nazi free speech -- you put up with awful people for the greater good of recognizing that they too have rights. I'm not sure anybody outside of Indiana or the Catholic Church would say that about gay people.

My 'recovering Catholic' bias must be shining through.

"Look at ME! -- I'm so supportive!"

There :p

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

My God this guy is useless:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...that-doesnt-bode-well/?utm_term=.e3bf9cc32c00
Headline: Trump is shocked that Carrier took him literally. That doesn’t bode well for his many promises.
One of the best explanations of the Donald Trump 2016 phenomenon is this, via Salena Zito: "The press takes him literally, but not seriously; his supporters take him seriously, but not literally."

But apparently some supporters took him both seriously and literally. And Trump, rather amazingly, is surprised by this.

During his attempted victory lap in Indiana on Thursday celebrating the fact that Carrier opted to keep jobs in the state thanks to $7 million in incentives, Trump candidly admitted that he didn't even remember having promised to keep Carrier's jobs in the state and insisted that he hadn't actually meant to make that promise.

He said his mention of keeping Carrier's jobs was meant to signify other manufacturing companies that might be tempted to move jobs outside the country — as Carrier long planned to do — in the future, and that he didn't even realize he had said it until he saw on the news that Carrier's workers expected him to make it happen.

And I still don't get why people find his method so offensive. He took a freaking knee, he didn't burn it, spit on it or let it hit the floor. In fact his kneeling to me represents much of what the flag stands for.

Hrmph.

Cuz da troops! If you say anything bad about the country it's exactly like you're spitting on every person who has ever served in the military.

The skin on that knee was black.

It's weird that Trump told all of us he was going to make Carrier pay a **** tax, but then gave them $7M when they got behind closed doors. Almost like he had a public position and a private position on the matter.

No, it's:

"Look at ME! -- I'm so tolerant! (now that a known homophobe has moved into the neighborhood)"

Leave symbols to the symbol-minded.

I'm sorry but how is it look at me when they are all doing it because he is living there? It's a total shame move...

You misused Carlin feel shame ;)

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

No, we will always need work to be done, but more and more will move out of human control and to robotics, computers, and probably stuff we can't even imagine yet. There is no law that says jobs have to appear in proportion to the population. For example, US manufacturing output is at its all-time high. Manufacturing jobs continue to decline not because of a decline in output, but in a decline in the "human labor ratio" of manufacturing tasks. Machine/AI inputs will continue to increase and eventually slop over into every work segment. Just think of how many jobs have been replaced by computer programs -- not even hardware. Presumably at some point people will be aghast that we ever let human beings drive buses, fly airplanes, fight wars, perform surgery, balance the books, mine coal, etc... Tech just gets faster and more efficient and cheaper, all the way up and down the production system.

Interesting how it might affect an economy near and dear to our President Elect: porn.

Child pornography is one of only a few kinds of speech that enjoys no constitutional protection. The primary reason is that the making of it causes certain harm to children, even though the viewing of it may not. But if child porn is ever created by exclusively artificial means, the harm analysis would change. Of course, the product might still be classified as obscene, which is also unprotected speech, but a completely different test would apply.

That's your today's cornpone porn con law lesson.

Catholics don't hate gays or any of the LGBTQ community or drunks, or tax cheats, or even heretics.

We admonish the sinner trying to let them see the errors of their actions. If a sinner wishes to continue to sin, then they face the consequences.

Some may disagree with that. OK.

Now every company in America, whether they had planned to move jobs or not, is going to be shaking down the Trump administration for handouts, errr, I mean, "incentives".

You don't negotiate with terrorists.

Not your job to admonish the sinner. It's your job to love the sinner while hating the sin.

The admonishment is left to a higher power.

It is not your job to decide that gays are sinners.

The Spritual Works of Mercy

To instruct the ignorant.
To counsel the doubtful.
To admonish sinners.
To bear patiently those who wrong us.
To forgive offenses.
To console the afflicted.
To pray for the living and the dead.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

That strikes me as a bit of an inaccurate criticism. The individual isn't really deciding it. A practitioner of any of a good number of religions worldwide has that particular issue decided for them, don't they?

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Trump has apparently confirmed former CENTCOM Gen. James Mattis will be his Sec. Defense.

That is a fair point, Wisko, and I understand that in its purest form, faith theoretically requires a kind of unquestioning commitment. But don't have that kind of faith. If someone tells me he believes gay people are sinners, I see him as personally responsible for that belief, just as I would if his parents, aunts and uncles, and grandparents all held that belief.
