Has Pence been living there for years? Has he been one KFC chicken bone(jk, that **** is probably done now that the election is over) from being the GD president of the country for years?
I didn't have to argue that Nazis are bad nearly as much two years ago as I do now. Doesn't mean my feelings on the issue changed at all, just the threat level faced.

So a lot of moderate conservatives are against government regulations. How do you conservatives feel about punitive threats from the government for certain corporate actions (as Trump is starting to do)?

It's horrible. Trump is easily the most liberal/progressive/socialist/statist/authoritarian (pick your favorite bad word) president in memory, if not ever. He's more liberal than GW.

Punitive? I think you mean remunerative. Carrier extorted $7M out of Trump for 800 jobs. Companies are going to be lining up for punishment like that.

*Need the large print edition?
They could find suitable workers if they paid more, but robots cost less than what they would need to pay to get good employees for those jobs.

I completely agree with this. It is staggering how much we can produce with very little human labor.
I'd like to see us increase minimum wage. It's far from a perfect solution but I think would help ease the transition we are going through.

GMI is the inevitable bridge move. When the number of "work" jobs become obviously insufficient for the potential workforce, we can either move to a guaranteed income or let people starve to death. Assuming Paul Ryan isn't in charge, we'll do the former. Since productivity and output will only continue to increase (at least up to the point where Nature has had enough and wipes us all out via a plague), the possessions considered to be "minimal needs" will continue to increase. There's no guarantee that this will include education, so population growth won't necessarily stabilize, and that will slow things down for a while, but eventually even women in Iran and Mississippi will figure it out.
And so eventually the whole idea of getting a paycheck, once from the employer but now from the government, will gradually die off, and people will just take what they need from the necessities bucket when they need it.
We'll still have the rich -- we'll still have our monkey brains and a few who NEED to lord it over the other monkeys -- but at least the line of impecunity will have been moved from "pick which child starves" to "pick which day you can't do cocaine this week."
Not saying it will be better. Just different. But way different that we can see.

It will be interesting if GMI flies here. I think the super rich would have to pay for it and I'm not sure if they would go for it or not. These are great problems to have and it will be very interesting to see how they are handled.

Also you have to be a little strange to think supporting gay rights is "tolerant." You tolerate something like Nazi free speech -- you put up with awful people for the greater good of recognizing that they too have rights. I'm not sure anybody outside of Indiana or the Catholic Church would say that about gay people.
