Patty Kaz 2013

Re: Patty Kaz 2013

It's just as accurate to say that Noora had a bunch of meaningless saves. Tonight was a complete team game.
Don't even bother, I know trolling when I see it, and she is definitely just trying to get a rise out of people.

Not that it's not *fun*, it's just, that's what she's doing.

Have there ever been four players from the same team named as Top 10 finalists?

Though I can't fault the selections of anyone on the list, it's hard to believe Babstock is not on this list.

And even odder, that Babstock and Fry are on the US Camp list, but Dempsey is not.

Re: Patty Kaz 2013

Well I don't think you could go wrong with any of the top forwards. Dempsey now has the weakest stats of the 8, but she slipped more recently, likely after the vote. But she was higher in the ppg stats for most of the season, and maybe that matters more than where you end up for a vote like this.

Also, don't forget that a low GPA can hurt you in the process, possibly even prevent your coach from nominating you in the first place.

Re: Patty Kaz 2013

Have there ever been four players from the same team named as Top 10 finalists?
For a number of years, the maximum number of players even nominated from one team was two, so it was impossible to have four, or even three, players from the same team in the Top 10. Last season the list of those nominated was made public, and there was complaint about players not receiving a nomination. As with any award, there will always be more deserving players than spots for them.

Monique could easily have been named, there were likely reasons why she wasn't, but I think she's meant too much to UND's program over the last three years to start listing them beyond saying that it was unlikely that the WCHA would get more than six on the list. Alex Rigsby is another from the league that could have been included. So too could Erica Howe, Christine Bestland, or Kelly Babstock from other conferences. A number of great seasons, but the coaches don't see everyone in person and it is bound to be a subjective process in any case.

Brianne Jenner was named Ivy League Player of the Year!

Re: Patty Kaz 2013

Any projections on the final three?

I think Kessel has a chance, no?

With the season the Gophers have had, it would be difficult to justify picking someone from a different team. And if I had to place odds as of today, my money would be on Kessel winning it. Right now I'd say it's about 80-20 that she does.

Okay, seriously, if you gave odds at -400 for Kessel to win the Kaz, I would put my entire life savings up because that is guaranteed return.

Kessel
Lam
Raty
That seems right... mostly I'm trying to figure out how to fit Bozek in because those d-man numbers are pretty gaudy themselves.

But then you also have to include Räty because, I mean, come on.

But that leaves us with a Gopher hat trick and... mostly I just can't fit that into my head.
