Paris Olympics

TV ruined my expectations for surfing. 95% is them sitting in the water waiting for a wave or passing up a wave. And when they do catch a wave it only lasts a couple seconds.

It is worth it for when they catch a big one and ride it all the way, though.

So I’m trying to figure out Judo. Can’t though. Just saw a match where a point was given, and even the replay with commentators could not point it out clearly.

Over on Twitter (not sure why I bother) everyone appears to be melting down over the opening ceremonies still. Appears they all believe that the entire thing was about mocking Christianity, in particular The Last Supper.

Shockingly they’re not up on their Greek history

all they do is seek to be a victim

Completely shocked that the Christian homeschool brigade thinks that a segment of the opening ceremony of the Olympics that were started in Greece, being held in France, contained a live action re-enactment of a French painting about the Greek gods feasting, then segued into a fashion show specifically one with French influence could somehow be conflated with an Italian painting about some Middle Eastern guys.

What a bunch of rock stupid people. And that's an insult to rocks.

I came to the same conclusion.

Even if it was in any way the Last Supper, it wasn't the biblical mention of the Last Supper, but rather a specific painting of it. Specifically, one painted by a famously gay guy, so yeah an LGBTQ interpretation of it makes perfect sense.

Woah there, gay people didn't exist until the 1960s. /s

That happens a few times a match. No points.

It has to be a certain angle. Watched one this morning where they thought they were going to review to see if it was a correct takedown and then actually ended up disqualifying the guy because his head touched the ground, which you can’t do for safety reasons.

Another match was in like the 6th minute of OT and the woman from France was DQ’d for her third warning for having hands inside the robe.

But I’m with you, I never figure out what’s a good takedown and what’s not.
