Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

How was the All Access feed last night? Was it 10 minutes behind the game again? Am I instantly going to regret making the $10 donation?

I just loaded the page to post the exact same question. Someone please tell me that the feed is back to being watchable.

Holy crap what a win! Four goals from four different players. Reilly Smith with 4 goals on the weekend. Penalties relatively limited and PK solid. And of course, Connor Knapp being a beast in goal. Who gets National POTW... Connor Knapp or Reilly Smith? Can they share it?

Gotta do this again next weekend against NMU so we can even out the season series and boost that TUC record further.

What a weekend...

Great effort from everyone, and despite Reilly's eye for goal this series, I think it was Knapp who really stole the show. Hopefully Paulazzo will recover quickly, but Murphy did look good in his absence.

MAC Champs!?!

Obligatory: WHY WESTERN?

17-2-2 in our last 21 against them. I guess that might be WHY WESTERN!!!

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that they were missing both Dane Walters and Shane Berschbach this weekend, but I do not think they are ready to play "big boy hockey" though their alums and fans will try to tell you otherwise.

Victory!

Speaking of Big Boy Hockey. ND fans will be appalled when they meet Mr. Biggs. That is all.

Also, I have never seen a 17 (or whatever) point lead thrown away so rapidly. Talk about the kitchen sink. Have a good one everyone

Reilly sitting at 99 career points after this weekend.

Disagree. I'd take Diamond Dave Allen over Greg. I think Dave's a better hockey man.

Apologies. I should have explained the joke. I've never actually heard the ONN announcers. I don't get ONN, so the only chance I get to watch ONN is on the Miami ALL-ACCESS and it's with Greg's voice-over.

Just in case people forgot,

we're in #2 in CCHA!

I thought it was telling of Notre Dame's continued hypocrisy when they elected to appeal Riley Sheahan's one-game suspension from the CCHA for his shoulder to the head/neck area of WMU's Dane Walters. Even if he didn't hit Walters in the head, the neck/upper body was targeted and Walters was in a dangerous position. He did not see the hit coming.

Jackson and ND ***** about hits to the head and cry about it, but I've never heard of any suspension ever having been appealed in the CCHA before. In fact, both Dave Starman and Ben Holden were talking that even the league isn't completely certain, but doesn't think it's ever happened during (that a suspension has been appealed) last night's telecast of the Michigan/Notre Dame game on CBS.

If you didn't know, the suspension was upheld and Sheahan missed last night's 2-1 Wolverine win.

All, well Greg's certainly fine. I actually think he's gotten much better over the years.

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

I believe if I had a vote for number 1 right now in any of the polls, your 20th ranked team (20th? Really?) would be my number 1. This is certainly a season where you need to look at the parity when casting your ballot, and how anyone looking at all 58 teams can't see that right now Miami is a little better than 20th probably shouldn't bother voting. It's one thing to look at the crappy October on November 1st. It's a little different to give it the same weight looking at the 12-4-2 record since the 2-6 start. This is one of those seasons where it may be fair to consider the discarded PWR factor of your record in the last *however* many of games.

Congrats on another good weekend. Western made us look like crap last Saturday.

The CCHA is just beating the absolute **** out of each other. It will be interesting to see where everyone falls in the league table and the PWR at the end of the season. Can't wait for the series in February!
