Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Good lord, don't get us started with the debacle that was this year's football team. I understand the three head coaches in four years, but Treadwell comes in and takes the defending MAC champs, who were bowl victors and 10-4, and takes us back to 4-8 with virtually the same team. Good times...

You could literally say you were at Yager Stadium with five of your closest friends on most game days.

Did you see this gem on facebook today?

Just went over to MHT & I wasn't missing anything by staying away all these years. Talk about ignorant! They just want to ***** about everything. As an intelligent Miami alum, I reserve (and utilize) the right to never go back on that site again.

Rant of the day has ended.

Me and the pops won some up there too, but since they were for giant eagle we just gave them away

I was still living in Cincy when I won. We drove all over Columbus looking for one. I didn't know my way around Cbus at that time.

Not to harp too much on our MHT brethren, but I do enjoy how the "basketball" posters all seem to be against us potentially playing at Solider Field. Curious...

And, that would include DICK, the 62 year old blue hair that is everything that is wrong with Miami fans. He's too old to sit outside, apparently and also uses MHT as his personal Facebook page.

I saw the survey and didn't really know what to say...except wow...

No, you haven't. I've spent less and less time there and it's going to continue going that way.

At least we've lost the wanton violence. Not much was better than the poll of will you watch miami in the frozen four, or the spring football practice

Wingels played 21 minutes for the Sharks last night? That's a bit of a jump from the ~6 he's been averaging.

I watched part of that last night and he was getting time on the 2nd PP unit as well. Huge for him.

@95: i would like to second your questioning of the goalie situation last weekend. Your rant was harsh - and perfectly warranted. Great job with the blog. It's a 'must read' for any Miami Hawkey fan. Keep it up.

Watch Cody comes out on Friday just to send us all spinning off into another dimension.

This could very well be a case of not knowing what you've got until it's gone, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what McKay can do next year.

Only our 2nd home game in 2 months, there better be lines out the door by 2 pm on Friday. Rise Up Miami, I know you can do it :rolleyes:

Whoop whoop

The tribes go forth to war,
Their scalp songs ring afar;
Bright the blood-red camp fires gleaming,
Mad with thrist the war-hawks screaming,
Signal smoke soars high,
Beckons in the sky,
Old men shake their calabashes,
Warriors dance amid the ashes,
Maides sobbing, war-drums throbbing, WAR!

Sweet the vict'ry and the conquest,
Calm the rest among the slain;
Sons of centuries of heroes,
Seek the fruit, despise the pain.
Watch Miami, now,
See the foeman bow,
Far and wide their host is scattered,
Spears are broken, shields are battered;
Miami! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh!
Miami! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh! Yuh!
Race them, chase them, pound them, Wow!

I'm a bit apprehensive about this series, I think we all saw last weekend how well Western is playing.

Day to day, I'm still never sure what Miami team we are going to see out on the ice, especially with our new goalie situation. Hopefully we can finally take advantage of the home crowd and defend our barn, seems like home wins have been few and far between this season. It will also be nice to have Biggs back, assuming he and Coleman can keep their hands to themselves...
