Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

I believe if I had a vote for number 1 right now in any of the polls, your 20th ranked team (20th? Really?) would be my number 1. This is certainly a season where you need to look at the parity when casting your ballot, and how anyone looking at all 58 teams can't see that right now Miami is a little better than 20th probably shouldn't bother voting. It's one thing to look at the crappy October on November 1st. It's a little different to give it the same weight looking at the 12-4-2 record since the 2-6 start. This is one of those seasons where it may be fair to consider the discarded PWR factor of your record in the last *however* many of games.

Congrats on another good weekend. Western made us look like crap last Saturday.

I'm really looking forward to our series in a few weeks. The last five weeks of the regular season are going to be intense!

i'm curious if anyone else noticed how little the Pairwise thinks of Western. Following a sweep of the then #8 team in the country, Miami rose all the way to #14 in the PW (note sarcasm).

Noticed that too. Alaska dropped out of TUC so that hurt us a little bit. The Northern series will have huge pairwise implications.

Current senior class is 3-3-1 in oxford. (including when they beat us in the ccha tourney and we were the last at large in to the ncaas. We wont bring up what happened later in that season...)

Up to 14 in INCH Power Rankings.

Reilly Smith is officially on fire: the junior wing scored all of Miami’s goals in Friday’s 3-1 win against visiting Western Michigan and added another in Saturday’s 4-0 RedHawk win. Smith has six goals and two assists in his last five games.

They sure got that right. It seemed like Reilly spent the first half of the season searching for the top shelf, every great look he got went sailing over the cross-bar. Since Christmas he's gotten his mojo back, and is absolutley sniping it.

As will series against Michigan, duhOSU and Notre Dame. It's in the boys' hands. All they have to do is keep playing how they have the last couple months.

Reilly, Knapp and "The Czar" named CCHA players of the week in their respective categories.

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

I don't even think the reactionary INCH rankings do justice to how well we are playing right now, and this is coming from our resident naysayer.

Last time we started talking like that Northern shut us up pretty quick :p

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

gotta love those uppity Western fans chiming in on the Weston article.

There are a couple delusional posters on their bbs these days as well, comes with newfound success. People have probably said the same thing about some of our fans when we started having good teams, but a few of these guys could use a little perspective. I know Western winning is good for the NCHC, but I'm still in the camp that thinks their students were classless pieces of **** during the Mason Cup ceremony last year, so I do take a little satisfaction in seeing them loose now and then :)

Thread continues to deliver. Good to get your significant other in here, Sultan. I'd love to be your child.

Reilly named INCH National Player of the Week. Two RedHawks out of the past three weeks. Love it.

Hello Miami fans :)

Just wondering how Biggs has progressed this season, and your expectations from him in the second half of this season. Thanks
