Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

I made tbe comment in the first that it may be one of those games we dominate but still lose. Then comes 2 mistakes by thr same defenseman, game over.

Absolutely brutal mistakes. The first one was a shocker but then you could see the second one coming. Take the player off the puck, not the puck off the player! Of course it doesn't help when the rest of the team looks like their ust gliding through the neutral zone in both instances.

Northern is currently sitting with the last 1 seed in the national tournament with a 12-8-5 record. A full quarter of their wins coming against us. Lol Miami. Lol defense

I'd guess we'll see Cody tonight, despite neither of those goals being Connor's fault. I really hope Kyle sticks with his rotation and plays Ellingson. If I never have to see Coreau and his glove again I'll be ecstatic.

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

It looked like they were warming up Connor in practice. They also didn't have Riley, Chris, or Cameron on the ice for practice. Cameron was for sure hurt last night, but I'm not sure about the other two...

My son's in Oxford this weekend and wanted to go to tonight's game. If he does he better be wearing the Miami jersey I got him for Christmas - or else!

All things considered, we did actually move up in the PWR rankings (thanks Nooks ;)), so I guess the night wasn't a total loss.

Still have to come out tonight with 3 points.

Sometimes, I get a good feeling [/flo-rida]

With reichard past few months not so much though. Come on cody. Need to bury some pucks on our 40+ shots too. And hope we get other fortunate results like last night.

Northern looked really bad. I don't they had more than 5 legit scoring chances all weekend. They have somehow manipulated the pairwise rankings.

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

Well that was a nice response from the team, still wish we had some of those bounces on Friday night.

Yeah, you dominate a team for six periods, and it would be nice to do better than 1-1, but it is what it is. We need the BG's and Alaska's to keep on keeping on and steal some points from the other contenders in the league, especially when we're "off" against UAH. "Off" in terms of league play.

"Off" in terms of league play better be the only relevant use of the word that weekend. How many teams have been caught completely off-guard by UAH so far this season? Let's not be one of them... A sweep of UAH would also even out the Common Opponents comparison with Denver, which would be a little bit of insurance against Denver flipping the overall comparison.

Yay, we can improve our all time record at Yost to 5-??-?.

Making my first trip to the old barn this weekend, whoop whoop.

Edit: We are 5-43-1 all time at Yost.

Good Lord. What a testament to that place... and the traditional dominance of Michigan in general. Glad we've turned the tide for the most part in recent years, but these are almost always the most exciting regular season games of the year. Hope I can find a place that will put the game on for me!

Re: Official 2011-2012 Miami Season Thread Part II: (OH) Yeah!

It really is an amazing stat, but hopefully we exorcised some of our Yost ghosts the last time around.

Have to at least come away with the split this weekend, with the games in hand ND, <--M--, and Ferris have on us, a sweep would...hurt.

That's why I clarified. They've beaten DU, UNO and played UMD tough.
