I think the Hawks have caught not only our team's attention, but the fans as well. I think we'll have the Hawks for the next four regular season games at Yost ( I imagine that next season the schedule will have Miami in A2 for two games and we won't be in the cluster) which will probably be our last go around for awhile since we are each departing for new conferences-so we'll try to make it a lasting memory. Rivalry? More like a nemesis the last few seasons, more so than OSU and MSU- but you are correct, purist Michigan fans won't see it that way. The way they see it, everyone hates Michigan, anyway. I think your program's credentials require respect, though- but maybe not at the same level as your fans think it should because we did make it to the top of the mountain a few times.
I can only imagine what it would be like to have a younger Red going against Blasi. It would be similar to the war of words that used to go on between Frank Anzalone at LSSU and Michigan back in the late 80's-early 90's. That was fun. So yes, thinks have heated up and I expect them to be warm this weekend, too.
Officiating in the CCHA is like water finding its level. Sooner or later it will come back and bite you if you were given breaks. Those comments do not surprise me, though. I did a study of the officials that have done our games this season and the records. I hazard to guess we'll see Pochmara and/or McInchak. They have a combined 20 Michigan games this season, with Michigan going 13-6-1. The ones I don't want to see: Langseth (1-2-1), Philo (2-4-1), Lacina (0-1-1) and Wilkins (2-1-3). We've only seen Hall once (1-0) and Sergott twice (1-1). Hill (4-2), Gawlik (2-0) and Aaron (3-1-1) may also be assigned this weekend. We have not seen Tocco, Berkebile or Kronforst for official games. As far as I know, there are no more "we want Shegos" to be had.
Throwing things? Not in my section. We have the yellow jackets keeping the visitors in check, first.
