Scott Olson is the young former Marine whose skull was fractured in Oakland during a police action against "Occupy" demonstrators. He has been upgraded from "critical" condition and is evidently expected to recover. That's good news. We're told he was injured as a result of police misconduct. If that turns out to be true, then somebody should pay.

Although his political beliefs, in and of themselves, don't justify excessive use of force, fairness dictates a more complete look at Olson's activities. Turns out he's far more than an "anti-war former Marine." And a bit of an anti-Semite, too.

Absolutely. It's like a lot of these morons seem to have tuned in, turned on, and dropped out. At least among the most vocal, pierced, and tattooed Even Micky Ds wouldn't hire some of these people, and there's a good reason why. You nailed it dubbie31. Businesses want people who are polished, put together, and have bathed at least once in the last week. These protesters can be as "different" as they want, but know that they are going to be blackballed as soon as they walk into an interview.

Again, I'm not saying they represent the entire movement, because they don't. But they are the most vocal of them.

If they are out protesting for extended periods of time, it may be rather difficult to look like you're going to an interview. (And there are some police who are trying to make things as miserable as possible) That said, there are some who look rather... earthy.

Again, I'm not saying they represent the entire movement, because they don't. But they are the most vocal of them.

Or they might just be the ones a very vocal segment of the media only report on so they can portray them as dirty drugged out hippies or people who you would stare at on the street.
