Re: Obama 9 -- Its Been a Whole Year Now
This obsession with Fox is really quite total, isn't it? Any analysis which proclaims CBS as "moderate" is fatally flawed. While CBS may not be as lefty at Daily Kos, it by no means is "moderate." Again, you refuse to consider or even acknowledge the multiple examples I provided of their repeated, historic deviations from accepted journalistic practices. Fine. Have it your way.
Your posts consistently take a position from the left, sometimes from the very hard left. And I submit that an unbiased person reading those posts would conclude that you find the United States to be a real problem in our world. If the United States would only behave better, then we could usher in some sort of paradise.
The Blame America First crowd always yammers about "talking truth to power," claiming the best way to "improve" America is to discuss its faults. Trouble is, all they can ever talk about is faults. And based on our previous go 'rounds and your multiple posts, I have concluded that you are firmly in the Blame America First crowd. Frankly, you give away the store with your snarky comment about "someone from my past." Of course, Old Pio is working out some "issues" and taking them out on little old me. Bosh. I don't know anything about you except what you post. Unlike yourself, evidently, I'm not into psychoanalyzing people with whom I'm having a discussion. I simply try to deal with the plain language they use.
You have said, more than once, that the case for CBS being described as liberal is "dubious." And you've insisted, more than once, that the only way to analyze CBS is by comparison with Fox (a subject which evidently consumes you day and night). I believe we're talking here about objective standards of journalism which both of them violate pretty consistently. But for some reason, you're prepared to give CBS the benefit of the doubt when their behavior over the years clearly doesn't warrant it. To my knowledge, Fox has never done the things I outlined initially. If it had, you would have mentioned those transgressions, since every jot and tittle of what happens on Fox is apparantly of galactic importance to you.
I would recommend you do what liberals always suggest when someone complains about content: change the channel. I don't watch Fox. I suggest you try it.
Let me explain. If CBS was the only outlet on earth...the term liberal is meaningless and it just comes down to my opinion (and in your eyes your own opinion). A comparative with other outlets is necessary...if you're applying a comparative evaluation (liberal)...and you are.
In the end, Fox is on the right (which slants its news with its agenda)...BBC is on the left (which slants its news with its agenda)...and CBS is in the middle (a station for which there is no evidence of any overarching agenda).
Show me where I 'blame America' and what I blame it for...I simply explained American attributes relative to the world. Both great ones...ones with opportunity. And no, I'm not whomever from your past you think you're debating with.
"Continuously Improve America First" is the vaccine to deliver an even better future.
