Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Reilly has a lot to learn before making it to the NHL. I wouldn't discount Spurgeon just yet.

More wishful thinking on my part than anything. Not a big Spurgeon fan. But with the Wild trying to sign Dubnyk they will probably have to dump some salary somewhere.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

I thought that percentage was of total players in NHL not just first rounders

It is. That's why I don't think it's that bad. It means the total "star" prospects is around the same representation as total players, so it's not like the NCAA is just dumping 4th liners into the league.

The Coyotes are the new owner of the Chris Pronger Contract. Acquired in trade involving Grossman to Arizona and Sam Gagne to Philly, among picks.

Re: NHL 2015, Part 3: Stanley Cup and Offseason

Dallas trades a 7th Round pick for Niemi. Ok...

Expansion - where to?

Of the goal is to maximize HRR, then it seems obvious you go North of the Border.

But the Canadian $ is currently hovering at $0.81 US. So you need roughly 12% more income than a US team to make things equal. If the Loonie hits historic lows of around $0.60 US, you're looking at 67% more revenue just to be equal.

So, is Quebec a lock? Toronto II? Vegas?
