Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

if that was brady throwing, the stillers would have been flagged for RTQ

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

flipping timmons could have tackled him, but instead thought a left hand punch to the ball was better

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

I'm feeling a little better about my fantasy football chances this week, now that Philip Rivers has turned it on late in this game. :D

I'm feeling a little better about my SD +7 bet.

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

i am getting 6.5

i like a fg here, then let the bolts score a td :p (greedy chit i am... wanting it all:cool: )

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

If 2 of Rivers' three TD's didnt go to Gates I would have been right back into my matchup this week...However, my opponent has Gates and he's negated all of Rivers' points.

I'm still down 36 points with only AP left to play for me and he has Driver.

I desperately need another Rivers' TD to someone not named Gates and then Driver needs to come down with a dramatic unforseen injury and not be able to play tomorrow night, then AP has to go off for 3 TD's and I could win:cool:

"It could happen"

NOT!

3-1 here i come...goodbye undefeated.

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

Yeah, I'm looking at 3-1, but most of my team was on a bye this week, and most of the rest are on a bye next week. I may need to find a QB soon, too.

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

I'm down 6 going into MNF, with Longwell, Vike's D, and Chester Taylor going. I like my chances now (I was down 128-65 going into tonight's game).

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

I'm down 6 and I'm done, and he's got Driver going tomorrow night. If San Fran's DST hadn't gone off for 39 points I'd have this thing in the bag.

I'm almost in the same boat.

He had San Fran's defense for 35 points...He has Driver and I have AP...Down 38 heading into tomorrow.

I think I'm done.

Unless Driver fumbles the ball about five times.

Question:

I can't post this in the FFL thread, as a competitor in my division lurks there, and I don't want any info getting out (I know he doesn't lurk here).

Mutually proposed trade tonight, TD-based league (yardage is minimal at best; 3pts for 100-yd game, 5 for 150, 7 for 200).

I get:

L Fitzgerald
Felix Jones

He gets:

Joseph Addai
Steve Breaston

Felix being out right now doesn't hurt me, I'm looking at him as a spot-replacement, especially later in the season when starters may not play.

Thoughts?

Edit: this team I might trade with is NOT in my division.

I would take it. Fitzgerald has had a slow start, but he'll pick up and is still a better choice then Breaston. While Addai is good, Jones has outperformed him so far. And you also should take into account the rest of the Colts' offense. Plus, you have a lot of good RB's already...

Basically, you're upgrading a lot more at WR, and only slightly downgrading at RB...

But then you lose a player that has "breast" in his name. That sucks.

That's EXACTLY what I was going for/hoping for. It's an insurance police. BTW, I still have Brandon Marshall, Pierre Garcon, Owen Daniels, oh yeah and the "other" Steve Smith. :D

Re: NFL 2009 (or, in Super Bowl nomenclature, MMIX)

BTW...did you see FX is doing a show about your FFL?

The League :D

Link isn't working for me. Details?

And right now, for the record, we're "taking a day" to think about the trade, but I was 90% sure of accepting it, and I think he's about 75%. I hope he looks at his RB core (Beanie, Mike Bell, McClain, and Coffee) and goes for the trade.

Not sure what happened...it works now...

Oh. My. Lord.

YES!

Although, I have to be honest, and TOTALLY Rube-ish. We actually have a rule that there are no side-compensations in trades, etc in our league.

Rule: $5/transaction. Trade, the usual method is $2.50 each, but sometimes one team offers to pay it all.

Rule: Nothing can be added to that "on the side."

In the past, we had sports cards, meals, money, etc, traded in addition to the players. It got so bad that we actually had to make a RULE about it!

:D
