Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

We watched "Alone with Her" on IFC. A very creepy look at voyeurism and high-tech stalking. Had to stop it a few times, due to the "in your face" use of "hidden" cameras and mics. Overall, it wasn't bad, and the lead actress is pretty hot.

Hot Fuzz

Pretty good. Still can't get into some of the minor jokes/nuances of British humor. I get it, but to me it's not that funny, if it is funny at all. Overall it's a nice silly comedy that's worth seeing, but I'm not raving over it at all.

Fine, it is old but **** good.

<--not a fan of Jim Carrey. And the subset of banal stupid humor that Ace Ventura falls into is about some of the least funny stuff I've ever seen. See also: Chris Farley movies.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

I wonder how they'll use him, Gordon-Levitt is apparently playing the Riddler. So maybe there will be two villians?

Dont buy into the stuff you read on the web, JGL has not signed to make the movie and there is no guarantee the Riddler will be used. That is just nerds on IMDB trying to start rumors ;)

Speaking of nerds I saw Social Network last night...it was quite good. If 1/10th of it is true Zuckerberg is an epic d-bag...but even if all of it is true he should give about 2/10ths of 1% of a crap about it. He outsmarted everyone and did what he could to make Facebook the #1 site around. He paid the Idiot Twins 65 million to shut up...paid off his former best friend probably near 300 million to drop his suit and still was the youngest billionaire in history. If I was him I would walk around saying "Yes I am that big of a jerk, and ya know what...SCREW YOU I DONT CARE! here is 5 thousand bucks that I found in my sock go buy yourself a new life while I go dive into my money vault Uncle Scrooge style and nail any chick I want too!" :D

Went to a screening of Red last night, and it was fantastic. Good humor, great action, and John Malkovich is incredible, as always. Leave your expectations of reality at the door, grab some popcorn, sit back and just enjoy this one.

If Hardy and Levitt do end up in the third installment, it would make me wonder if Inception was an audition for it.

Ah, I see. I had thought I saw an article about JGL actually committing to do it, but I'm not positive anymore. The Nolan brothers are apparently keeping the script extremely secretive, possibly not even giving the script out until the first day of shooting.

This is the next movie I am seeing...looks just outstanding! Most of the comics sites are giving it good marks and it has a 73 on rottentomatoes so reviewers like it as well. Just looks like pure fun :D

SOH,

A lot of people thought Inception was an audition for certain people to be in Batman 3. Nolan is very loyal and finds ways to use the same people in his movies. I hate JGL but he was fantastic in Inception and if they did use him as Riddler I think it would be an inspired choice if the character is done right. In Nolan I trust.

I just wonder if he will have the same type of control over Superman since he is producing it and so on. Him and Zach Synder is an interesting combo.

100% agreed! We were laughing from start to finish.

If you thought "The Expendables" was good -- RED is even better. And Helen Mirren still looks hot, especially with a machine gun!:D

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

We watched, or tried to watch, "The Lovely Bones" on HBO this weekend. Considering the cast, I wasn't overly impressed with the movie, although I really liked the concept. Maybe it will grow on me, or maybe I need to drink scotch instead of beer next time. ;)
