Just because something catches on doesn't make it good. (Like women voting.)

At least two groups out there are looking to end women's suffrage. (Still my favorite bit they did.)

White lady: "They're just white men making fun of women."
Adam Corolla: "What are you, from Cameroon?"

And here's a kid going to a nationally awarded school of excellence, the Padua Academy.

Black Caesar:

The most "serious" blaxploitation movie I've seen, and despite poor production/bad acting/etc etc, the drama involved does actually succeed and the storyline is actually quite quality, and outshines the unintentional comedy, which really *ing surprised me.

After looking it up on imdb, I was even MORE surprised that at first, they wanted Sammy Davis Jr to star, and then THEY changed THEIR minds.

GLM, I'm looking in your direction, you'll like it, but probably not for the reasons you think. Also, I read there was a sequel "Hell Up In Harlem" but haven't done any digging on that one.

If you like the genre, or want to take a chance, this is a decent one to see. It's no Black Belt Jones, but you won't hate yourself for wasting time on it, either.

Nice to see you expanding into other films there. I haven't seen Black Caesar yet but it's on my list. I've got Black Samson in that four pack that I brought with me to the F5. By the way, that same four pack can be found just about anywhere. I saw it in freakin Target here.

It's one of those genres where I have to be in the mood to watch, and then there's the trouble of tracking the movies down. I'm sure I'll see more as time goes on.

Shutter Island - I believe this one wasn't well liked. I paused it once he found the chick in the cave so I don't know the outcome, but so far I'm intrigued.

I'm very late to the party, but i'll just summarize by saying,

What they said: Brenthoven & Handyman

Watching History of the World: Part I

Mel Brooks films are great, this is my favorite, I think. Never gets old.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

War, Inc.

I like what it tried to do, but it was just over-the-top out there that it was distracting. I was impressed by Hilary Duff's acting    . She did a great job. John Cusack is John Cusack of course, and Joan Cusack easily plays one scary beech. And Marisa Tomei's role.....well, anyone coulda played it. It was a standard support role, IMO.

Oh, and the ending was not only really stupid, it was so *ing predictable I wanted to vomit.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Watching "I Am Legend" again. Dunno why I didn't mention this the first time I saw it, but major plot hole: how the *! does one not know who Bob Marley is?!
