Wings ruled shut up!

Hannah Montana sucked...suite life with each and code was awesome ;)

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Predators was good. There were some obvious parallels to the original movie and the male protagonist was a little too knowledgeable, but a very enjoyable movie.

Even Topher Grace was tolerable, make sure you pay attention to the picture that the Russian guy has. :D

Lawrence Fishburne was the wrong guy to play his part though. Big fat guy playing the part of someone who should have been skinny. Yea that works well.

Any future governors? :p

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Adventures of Ford Fairlane played back-to-back times on TV last weekend. So anything is possible.

"Hit pay dirt with K Dirt!"

"Go back to Michigan!"
"Oh no. We're from Wisconsin!"
"Yeah, and I'm from my dad's pen15, now f* off!"

No, and now that I think about it, since there were other species on the planet being hunted, it would have been interesting if they had tried to work together.

The last two weekends I watched my former governor and current governor beat each other up and then kick *** together.

I wonder who's going to become governor of the next state I move to. :D

Carrot Top.

Alice In Wonderland (Burton):

Purely enjoyable. Bonham Carter was awesome in it, although Hathaway was annoying (I'm blaming the way her character is, but her hand/arm movements really bothered me to the point that I wanted them cut off from her body).

Very entertaining, a good "re-telling" or "re-imagining" of the story.

fwiw, all 4 peeps I know that saw Predators so far said they were thoroughly entertained. That could of course mean nothing but I think I'd like to see this one in the theater.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Saw Shutter Island...I liked it...

Kind of weird at parts...but I thought it was predictable.

If you like Mike Judge's work, you'll love this. Bateman definitely has the "nice guy but a sap" character down (*cough* Hancock *cough*). JK Simmons does well with what he has to work with, and I'm fast becoming a resurrected fan of Clifton Collins Jr (Stoned Age, Boondock Saints II, and much more). The rest of the cast was great, too, and due to the setting (factory/warehouse) I was in hysterics at points, because of some of the attitudes/personalities rang oh so true with some people I have worked with over the years.

I rank it behind Office Space, but ahead of Idiocracy, if you want a comparison.

I watched Shutter Island yesterday and liked it, then watched Sherlock Holmes which I expected more from. I liked it, but I came away wanting something more out of it.

Hey, I watch it whenever I can! ...which doesn't mean it was good. It definitely had its moments, though.

Kind of like "House" in London; not surprising, as House is based on Holmes, but I have to wonder if that connection influenced this movie version (also interesting to note that House is played by a Brit while this Holmes is played by an American). I've only read shorter Holmes stories, so, to me, the movie felt more involved than those (they are very brief); the movie showed far more of Holmes, from Holmes's POV, which I found curious. One of the charms of the stories is that they are all Watson's accounts of what happened. The movie lacked that.

I hated his character in Boondock Saints II.

I hated his character in Boondock Saints II.

While the movie as a whole was a bit disappointing, his acting job with what his character was, was very good IMO. I've seen some other stuff he's been in, but it's obviously been in minor roles, so I haven't really noticed him. The three main ones that I've mentioned he's played a teenage stoner, a blue collar run of the mill guy, and a nutzoid Mexican. It's a good start for a range of different characters.

Re: New/Rented Movies: Now In Smell-O-Rama!

Was bored last night, so I decided to browse hulu.com, and discovered they have complete movies (with commercials, but it's not too bad). Watched Ran, one of Kurosawa's last movies. It's long, nearly 3 hours, and light on action, but the visuals are beautiful, as is the story (essentially "King Lear" with sons instead of daughters, and set in 16th century Japan). I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Kurosawa's works.

BPH mentioned that movie to me a few weeks ago, after I mentioned I was getting into Akira. His general lack of action is no problem with me, as I enjoy the way his stories unfold in a character-based manner. It really is beautiful.

I just saw "Fistful Of Dollars" for the first time from beginning to end this weekend, and while good, it pales in comparison to Akira's "Yojimbo." It was all due to slight differences.
