My wife and I are going through West Wing for the first time. Almost done (on season 7) but it is really excellent. Drops off a bit when Sorkin leaves but still great television.

I watched it several years ago after it was old news and loved it. One of the best TV series ever, IMO.

I got to like season 6 or 7 but then I couldn't watch it because it reminded me of adult mature governing and it makes me sad.

The Coldest Game. Fictional spy drama wrapped around the Cuban Missile Crisis. I don't know if was made by Netflix or they just aired it, but this was the first newer Netflix release I've watched in quite some time I didn't. I wish they would have given more backstory to Bill Pullman's character, and the movie itself is standard fare, but I enjoyed it enough nonetheless.

I liked it, thought it was enjoyable.

Ford Vs Ferrari

Netflix does have an actual documentary about this also, I would recommend that for additional viewing. As for the movie, I don't think they needed the caliber of Damon/Bale for the roles, that was just using the spotlight power they had to push the movie itself. I'm going to guess that Damon/Bale weren't really challenged by the roles, and I think that is where they excel best. Decent watch, the racing footage/camera angles is pretty good. Worth the time for a gander.

Related: I could not imagine driving a beast of a car like the GT40/similar. NASCAR is one thing, road racing...Jesus.

I disagree. I think without the name power no one goes and sees that film. it is great dont get me wrong...but honestly it is a story almost no one cares about. Bale/Damon get you in the door then the film itself sells the rest.

Brannigan

John Wayne with Richard Attenborough and Dean Wormer.

Chicago detective goes to London to bring home a mobster. 1974 and filmed on location. Mookie is a sucker for films in 70s cities....can watch with the sound off. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Rooster Cogburn with Big X and Dean Wormer.

Fixed.

Also: would watch. Big X has a master plan to break out of Stalag 17, Rooster Cogburn is the drunken genius who pulls it off, Dean Wormer is the hapless commandant.

I know Owen Wilson gets a lot of crap, but he's just so perfect in Midnight In Paris.

No Hunt For Red October? Days of Thunder? Like 5 seasons of Law and Order?

Night of the Iguana with Richard Burton. Legendary drinking contest movie (drink what he drinks when he drinks it). As my theater professor said, "this play represents why stage drinks are always prop. If the leading male tried to do this in reality he would not survive Opening Night."

Also a great Ava Gardner role. She could act, if absolutely necessary.

That said, Richard Burton would've been my first choice for a leading male to attempt it.

Booksmart:

Two academic overachievers decide to make up for lost fun in one final night, before graduation.

Typical teen comedy, but worth your while. Good afternoon time-killer. Side-note: one of the co-stars reminds me of Mrs soh aka Vera. :D Their personalities are so in sync, IMO.

Also re-watched the Rise Of Skywalker, second time seeing it, and I have to say, that's a top 3 in the whole series. I dare say #2, behind Empire, for same reasons. The happiest and the darkest moments. New Hope would the the other one in the top 3. I could see NH and RoS flipping spots, though.

Extraction:

Set in India, a mercenary is hired to rescue a drug lord's kid who was kidnapped by another drug lord.

Guess what? Things don't go according to plan. It's a Michael Bay movie, with less imagination and more action.
