A lot of the fun is discovering how the films work, what the tropes are, how the directors and actors are putting their spin on it. It's like commedia del arte -- we all know the basic structure so it's not so much what happens but what style is demonstrated in getting there.
Less than a handful. When I was in the U.S. and used Netflix for DVDs I went almost exclusively with foreign films. And although I didn't "target" gialllo films specifically but did end up with a few. The genre is definitely of interest.
