Minnesotans Arguing About the Weather IV: Niño or Niña, My Joints Stopped Trying

Having been through one...

Yes. Yes it is.

They can feel so different. One I experienced in the Bay Area was major but with a rolling, not jarring, effect. Although I no longer lived there then, I understand the one that caused the Bay Bridge collapse was like that. Some on this board may have lived there for that one.

Power went out at the Convention Center...that has never happened in all my years there. A few blocks in Minneapolis are dark.

With rain almost every day this week and Debby moving in for the weekend the weather guessers say we could have 7 inches of rain when all is said and done.

Oh boy. Sounds like power is out at home and across the twin cities. estimated time to restore is 8-12 hours, at least for our area.

Glad I turned on the A/C late last night. The house got up to 80 and was going to turn it back off this morning but I had lost power by the time I woke up.

Ours was out for three hours, (520am-820am) came back for 45 minutes, and went out again. Projected to be back up at 530pm.

Annoyed.

Xcel is saying it could be a couple more days before power is fully restored. My daughter’s daycare/school still doesn’t have power.

Xcel is reporting north of 30,000 still without power. Mostly concentrated in the south, east, and SE metro.

It is supposed to represent what it feels like with the humidity, similar to wind chill is what it feels like with the wind.

When I lived in Bahrain it was not uncommon to have a heat index of 120 or higher. Funny how an island country even in the Middle East can get pounded in the rear by humidity.
