Re: Maine Black Bears 2010-2011 - Part Deux

I don't think there is anyway Detroit has him come back for his senior year. With the current NHL CBA it's almost automatic that the player will be signing after his junior year unless the NHL team has no interest in him which is certainly not the case with Nyquist

I wouldn't be so sure they will take him, his numbers are down a lot this year, he has 6 goals 2 of which are empty netters, for the amount of shots he has this isn't a great stat. They may give him 1 more year to get back into it.

Everybuddy gets jacked up to play Maine, no matter how bad we're playing. Especially UHN. It is pretty much their super bowl as someone mentioned and their national championship games, all rolled into a 2 game set. We'll probably get treated to thundersticks, face painting and chit why not, hoola hoops ! :D

Maybe their fans, but I'm worried UNH will look past this weekend to contender Merrimack the following weekend ;)

detroit can't afford to. iirc, the cba would make him a free agent before the beginning of the 2012-2013 season if he stayed... they would risk having him decide to not sign with the hopes of landing in a better* situation...

that is why you have seen the glut of kids leaving early/mid-season the last couple of years... nhl teams are forced to "protect" there assets by getting them to leave early...

8whether that be more money, weaker team with a greater chance to make the show sooner, etc.

also, the "number of shots" only accounts for the ones he put on net, I would bet that doulbe that number sailed high and right and were never counted.

Maybe they want him to move forward and not regress?
Sweetland left so that all hockey sense was not coached out of him.

, not to mention the pressure of missing yet another NCAA appearance.

It certainly wasn't a done deal at the start of the season but its very disappointing to see them on the outside looking in once again. Goaltending has been a huge issue but will and determination have been a bigger one if you ask me

Why would Gus come back to this again next year?. He's frustrated and he's getting hacked on extensively, they're keying on him,Not a chance he's in Orono next Sept.

Lastly, I'm sure its not lost on Whistlin Dick, but this is his chance to put the death spike into his hated rivals given that Maine needs to come away with something this weekend. Letz see if Dickie fumbles his opportunity.

Maine sweep.

He will probably have an enforcer protecting him at the next level............

Who is UNH playing this weekend? I asked my sister - a Maine Fan-atic - but she didn't want to talk about it.

Isn't there a MAine UNh thread for your witty banter?
Point taken. Thought Wildshawn's foray onto your thread made it OK. Good luck to both teams this weekend. Hope the electric atmosphere at the Alfond game last month carries over to the Whitt.

They bring in an uplink truck and pay the money for the Satellite uplink.
WABI uses a microwave repeater to get back to the studios, it can't handle HD as it doesn't have enough bandwidth. I talked to their programming director about this earlier in the season.

LKenney could weight on this, its what he does:D

As always thanks for the info! I don't care what tim whitehead says about you, your good in my book!
