Other than the stunning loss of innocent lives, to me the scenes from D.C. are as disturbing, if not more so than 9-11. Then I never once feared for the future of the country. Then I never once feared our resolve would be divided by politics. Maybe it was a mirage or an illusion, but it seemed like we were one America then. I fear the insurrectionists who are storming our Capitol far more than I feared anything on 9-11.

In addition to all of this, there were pipe bomb/EIDs being called into 911 across the whole city. If you hit a certain mark, there had to be a thinning of the ranks available to respond because you can't just ignore a bomb threat call. I'm fully of the mind that this was a coordinated breach of the US Capitol Building by a small number of people there. The rest were likely lemmings.

That is why they are so outgunned half the cops are there just in a different uniform.

So my father, another of the "the institutions will protect us" type guys came home from work, apologized to me for saying this crap would happen and said the cops should shoot the protesters in the Capitol, arrest Trump and Rudy for Incitement and Sedition and shut this all down now. He is so embarrassed and shocked he can't believe it. (he has never used social media so he has zero clue about how bad things are) He says anyone who helped invade the capitol and especially those that went into offices should go to prison for maximum terms.
 
CNN (and anyone else similarly reporting) needs to also stop with the talk about the meager or delayed response is in part because they were so outnumbered. I call bull5h!t. They were also outnumbered by Black Lives Matter protesters and other (mostly) peaceful protesters over the summer at plenty of those police riots. Yet they responded violently to THEM.

IMHO, the worst part what the complete lack of preparation. Other major cities in the US have prepared for this, but the location that dumpy wanted this to happen were not prepared at all.

And they VERY much have enough force to deal with it- given how they dealt with BLM earlier this year. I don't buy the BS that they were overwhelmed- they were un prepared, and let it happen.
 
I keep seeing an image aired of a guy kicking up his heels in some office or another, and a woman taking a picture of a masked man in the Pres. Pro Temp. of the Senate's seat. What are the odds that any of the people are tracked down and prosecuted?

I was watching PBS when they broke the door and the (incredibly brave) reporter there asked the first two guys she could stop what their goals are. The first guy gave a raving mad speech about 1776 and overthrowing tyranny and blood and death. The second guys said "I'm actually just looking for a bathroom." It was surreal.

On that note, BLM wasn't armed. How many of these jackasses were carrying weapons today?
