Biden and many other Democrats are truly shocked and saddened by these events because they still believe in the ideals of and the very IDEA of the United States Of America. Its why Biden spoke the words he just spoke. Frankly those words will not move the needle one tiny bit. Whatever percentage of America who supports this insurrection and wants violence (Kepler and I vigorously disagree with that number) are not going to be moved. It is why I don't give a 5h!t if everyone of those protesters were shot dead right now. Everyone on this forum knows that if that was a bunch of Black Lives Matter protesters, many of them, many, many of them, would be dead.
 
Liz Cheney just called out Trump on national TV, saying that he called these people to the Capitol today. I'm genuinely shocked that anybody from the GOP would admit to the stark truth today.
 
I'm watching this all form the office in my house, YouTube video of "Live" NBC News. Trump's tweet video was just now mentioned, and they're airing.

Trump is such a bitch. TL;DR version: You're in the right, you're justified in what you're doing, but you need to stop.

He is the paragon of a failed leader.
 
Well, I will absolutely admit that I was wrong 4 years ago about what would happen if Trump lost the election. I knew he would claim fraud and not accept the results, but I didn't think this was remotely possible until a few weeks ago...and even then I was only 50/50 on it.
 
Just as predicted, a peaceful boring transition of power. Our institutions held nicely and protected everyone. Even that woman who was shot in the chest in the Capitol. Imagine if the institutions hadn't saved her.

Phew. That was close.

Back to our humdrum Inauguration.
 
Remember Trump replaced all the Pentagon leadership with his toadies a few weeks ago? The DC Mayor called out the Nat'l Guard to stem the insurrection and they (who report to leadership at the Pentagon) refused to help. Then the Governor of Virginia sent the VA Nat'l Guard (who are under his command) to Washington DC from Virginia to assist police. It was after that, that the Pentagon agreed to assist with the DC Guard.

Count me amongst your numbers. I mistakenly thought our institutions and the various people in power would keep him in check. How very wrong I was.

Exactly. They covered their ears when clear warning signs were out- even 4 years ago, those warning signs were there. 4 years.

You are getting exactly what you deserve, the racist party is going to implode.

I remember asking my conservative friend what would happen to his party if they vote in dumpy over lunch in 2016. You could see this BEFORE the election.

R's can just go burn all of that money they got to keep warm. It's the warmth of the devil.
