I did somewhat, just kinda fell short of what it could’ve been.
I actually liked the sequel better (but then again I liked RE3 the game a lot).

I liked RE. Granted, I've never played any first person shooter so I wouldn't know about the games.

RE wasn’t a first person shooter.
Actually, the first RE games were rather difficult to play because their “tank” controls made it difficult to move and shoot.
Milla Jovovich’s Alice character was created for the movies, which was disappointing because the games already had two real good, strong female characters in Jill and Claire.
