D3 scores 2014-2015

Re: D3 scores 2014-2015

How about the Adrian move to #1 in the West Region? Any one see this as foreshadowing a desire for a 4x4 split? Hard to imagine moving the #1 team out of region and busing them off to Elmira.

I'm sure they got moved up due to UW-S falling out and Saint Norbert moving in. Since the once ranked/always ranked mindset doesn't exist anymore..that took 4 wins against Ranked away from UW-RF and gave Adrian an additional win and 2 ties. I'm sure Gustavus's loss to Bethel and St Thomas's loss to St. Ben's had something to do with River Falls SOS dropping a smidge.

I still don't see how UWS is ranked below LFC...it doesn't really matter though.

Re: D3 scores 2014-2015

In seeing all of the ranked Western teams this year, I personally think River Falls is better than Adrian … and Superior is superior to Lake Forest. :) Neither Adrian nor Gustavus are sure winners in their tournaments; however, I am pulling for both to win. There is no one else in the MIAC deserving of a trip to the National Tournament. St. Norbert and Lake Forest are both good teams and will be a respectable representative in the National Tournament should one of them knock off Adrian. Stevens Point is a solid team and deserving of a bid. They have played all of the Western ranked teams, handing Adrian its only loss on the season, coming away with a win, tie and two losses against River Falls, splits with St. Norbert and Lake Forest, and a competitive loss to Gustavus. Being a Pointers fan, I am hoping for no upsets in any of the tournaments and a good finish by Point. I can even stomach a fourth 10-hour trip to Adrian … kind of craving a big frickin’ chicken dinner.

Congrats to Maddy Gendreau who is the MIAC MVP from Concordia/Moorhead. Had the privilege of coaching against her when she played high school for Bismarck,ND and was Miss Hockey in 2011. She never takes a shift off. Well deserved.

Well there's your first wrinkle...Gustavus goes down to Bethel 6-3.

Doesn't look like it was much of a contest as Bethel was up 4-1 after 1.

Middlebury 3 Hamilton 2 Fluke on a pp goal in the 4th OT Coach Mandigo's 500th win

They played two full games and then some....I don't see that as out of the realm of possibility.

Yes with the extended game it's possible but 42 of those saves were in OT, all of which she had to make to keep the game going until Middlebury scored on attempt 43.

It's impressive, especially considering her counterpart had to make only 31 saves for the whole game.
