I believe that's against the rules in D-3 as well.
I think its only a rule for NCAA tournament games.

Please don't tell me they play the Canadian national anthem as well...
...and that's a shame, given the rich tradition Canada's played in the success of both programs.Plattsburgh does not...

Send your grand daughter to Norwich or Elmira and you'll hear the Canadian anthem.
Go to YouTube and you can hear it anytime you want...and still send your daughter to the two-time defending National Champions....
Too late....my D already has two rings...07,08 (I believe)
That's why I said grand daughter.
Okay....we'll talk in about 18 years!
I'll buy the first Maroon & Gold baby outfit!
I clearly remember sitting at UWS men's games and listening to John Munson sing "Oh Canada"
Pretty sure heard the Canadian anthem in the past at some D1 games. Not sure if there are rules around it.
Unless you are actually playing a Canadian team, you don't play the Canadian anthem. Pretty simple.
"...keep in mind there has been a big movement in foreign players. To play Devils advocate is it then fair to play just the American and Canadian anthem at that point?"
I think that's the thing. To play the anthem of the opposing team is a well accepted practice but to play the anthem of the students of every country represented on the ice by one or both teams is not practical.
