Cops: No Snarky Nor Positive Title

I didnt watch the video...the description was bad enough. And the cops are still on the job.

The family of Daniel Prude, a Black man who died in March after an altercation with police, intends to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the City of Rochester, and the New York State Attorney General is actively investigating the case.

Activists say Prude was lying on the ground — naked, handcuffed, and unarmed — when police killed him on March 23. They say police put a bag over his Prude’s head and pushed it into the ground. They say less than 10 minutes later, Prude was dead. According to the autopsy report, he was officially pronounced dead seven days later.

That autopsy report from the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death of Prude as a homicide. The report says Prude’s cause of death includes “complications of asphyxia in the setting of physical restraint.”

Video of the incident surfaced Wednesday when Black Lives Matter activists gathered outside City Hall to call for the immediate firing and prosecution of the officers involved — officers who have not been suspended.

I actually think that video is worse than the Floyd video.

Here they get the guy down, cuff him and kneel on him. They put one of those spit bags over his head. I think normally you can breathe out of those bags, but in this case after they did that it looks like (it's dark, and it's body cam footage) one of the cops grabs the back of Prude's head with his right hand and puts his gloved left hand over Prude's mouth and nose (with the spit bag material in between). I don't think it would even matter if the bag was there. If you clamp a leather gloved hand over someone's mouth and nose, it's going to be pretty hard to breathe.

I couldnt bring myself to watch another snuff film on Twitter. I read the description of the video last night (same as Hovey posted) and I felt sick to my stomach.

How people can continue to defend these actions with "iF oNLy hE dIdNt rEsIsT..." is mind boggling.

Yeah...and people are right now defending those cops actions. I will never get it...

The worst though is Elijah McCain. What those cops did is disgusting on a level I cant even describe. Some person calls the cops about a person "looking sketchy" and they choke a kid out and kill him.

Killing (or attempting to) for non-compliance cannot be the standard. The fact that there are plenty of videos of White People being non-compliant all over the place where no one is even tazed let alone choked or killed proves there is two separate systems out there. There was a video of a cop wrestling with a White guy much bigger than him inside a store...the guy is actively fighting and resisting and even appears to go for the cops gun. The cop detains him and doesnt put the guys life in danger or kill him. If that had been a black man the gun would have been out the second the resisting started and shots fired as soon as he made a move.

It should always be priority number 1 to end the situation with no loss of life. That no longer seems to be the case. Even if their intentions arent racist...the fact that the outcomes do seem to point to that is a problem no matter their intentions. When you are in a position of authority perception is reality.

No, the worst is that 12 year old kid sitting on the picnic table playing with a toy gun. Cop car pulls up about ten feet away and they start blasting within 2 seconds of getting there.

Aw man I had forgotten that one :-(

More fun in the new world.

Police in the US have shot dead a man suspected of fatally shooting a right-wing activist during protests in Portland, Oregon, officials say.

Michael Reinoehl, 48, was being investigated for the killing of a supporter of President Trump during last weekend's tension.

Reinoehl earlier said he acted in self-defence when he shot Aaron Danielson, a supporter of the Patriot Prayer group.

Police said he was armed and was shot during a confrontation with officers.

Black Lives Matter protests have been taking place nightly in Portland since the killing of black man George Floyd in May.

Last Saturday Trump supporters held a large rally and fought with anti-racism protesters in violent exchanges.

Reinoehl, who regularly attended the protests, had told Vice News that he had thought he and a friend were going to be stabbed by Danielson.

"I had no choice. I mean, I, I had a choice. I could have sat there and watched them kill a friend of mine of colour. But I wasn't going to do that," he said.

On Thursday President Trump had highlighted the killing of Danielson, tweeting "Why aren't the Portland police arresting the cold blooded killer of Aaron "Jay" Danielson. Do your job, and do it fast.".

I don't know the circumstances surrounding the cop's shooting of Reinoehl other than what is written in your link. But what is clear is that Reinoehl's story about his admitted shooting of the guy in Portland is a complete fabrication, if you look at the NYT link in the Vice News story. The Times story has a detailed timeline with videos showing both men, and Reinoehl's story that he was going to the defense of his "dear friend" is nonsense. He hunted the guy down and confronted him. The guy sprayed mace in Reinoehl's direction, then turned and walked away. Reinoehl took a couple of steps to follow him, then appears to have shot the guy in the back.

The cops may have very well executed this guy, but he publicly admitted he was armed and he publicly admitted he shot someone a couple of days earlier. If you are that guy, and the cops come from you, they'll be coming with guns out.

Oh.

“Two Missouri men were arrested at a Wisconsin hotel with an AR-15, a shotgun, handguns and magazines, as well as a dagger and saw. They are allegedly members of an organization called the 417 Second Amendment Militia and court documents included photos of one posing with a gun in front of a pro-law enforcement Blue Lives Matter flag.”

But there's property to be defended!

Ok, I'm stumped. What is the significance of the "417" for their name?

Christ. Another star trib headline

A New Brighton man is one of two "Boogaloo Bois" members indicted on federal charges of attempting “to provide material support to Hamas, the U.S. Justice Department announced.”
