Cops: No Snarky Nor Positive Title

20 years ago (30 years ago for sure) the GOP would have been different. Most of the Q crowd would have never been associated with the GOP...they would have been closer to the Proud Bois who want to overthrow the Government. I use this example a lot but Timothy McVeigh, Ruby Ridge, Waco...all of those people hated everything about the Big Government and back then it was run by George HW Bush. Their brand of reactionary conservatism would have been so far beyond what the GOP ever wanted to deal with on this level they would have been put at the kids table and ignored. Back then the GOP was smart enough to know you dont bring in the crazies because they arent beholden to the grift that your platform desires. You bilk them for donations and then ignore them.

Sorry but the 40% we are seeing now didnt exist then...crackpots always existed but they were the fringe. Now the crackpots have merged with the racists, the militias and the GOP to create a witches brew that is all new. 20 years ago 40% of the people would not have bought into Q...now it is literally the platform for one of the two major parties. The MAGA are something new...a coalition that is downright scary. The GOP opened Pandora's Box...

America has always, and will always, have its groups of crazies, scaries, stupids and evils. That is just part of living in a society. This is different though. Think of it this way you can have 25 random things in your house all of them fairly common and benign. You combine them though and they merge into something new and dangerous. That is what the MAGAytes are and we cant put them back in the box any more.

Agreed. In 1995 everyone in the family would give Crazy Uncle Jeff looks when he started going off about the "Deep State" and how vaccines were used as mind control. Now you openly talk about whatever the Conspiracy of the Week is and half of the people at the party are involved in the conversation...

The country isn't any different. The only difference is the internet. You want to go back to the way it was 40+ years ago, kill the internet.

It used to be that you generally only "knew" or communicated with people in a relatively small circle. The size of those circles would differ, sometimes substantially, based upon your work, your travels, whether you went to college, etc... But it was still relatively small.

Now, we are bombarded with communications, sometimes whether we want them or not, from people around the globe. Much, much easier for the crazies to find each other and plan.

But, look at the bright side. You guys all found each other.

The country isn't any different with respect to the % of bats**t crazy people. Sure they've merged with others to form an "enemy of my enemy" coalition but the percentages are the same. 40% have not gone so far as to be on board with Q it's just that many of that lot are presently looking the other way, and because so many dominate social media it inflates their presence. My parents are going to vote for Trump even though they're far from radicalized. They've never uttered a racist opinion in any conversation with me and neither of them are soft-spoken, both voted for Obama at least once, they're in favor of gay marriage, etc. Trump has galvanized the worst of the worst and they've chosen to no longer hide because he's done everything in his power to legitimize them. No President has been this far gone likely in our history, but certainly never since politics started dominating mass media 60 years ago.

To the extent you are touching on M. McLuhan's phrase, "The medium is the message," isn't it true that the country is being shaped by the internet and has become different to some degree as a result?

On the other hand, the Nazis all found each other.

However, you are correct and we are saying the same thing. Every country has an enormous Strategic Derp Reserve. The internet is so easy even they can use their non-opposable thumbs to share racist memes now.

So, who here did Nazi this coming?

A militia member patrolling the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Aug. 25 claimed that police on the scene told him they planned to herd demonstrators toward the armed men — and then leave.

In a widely shared video from that fateful evening when two people were killed, Ryan Balch, who said he served a “tactical advisement role” among the armed citizens, is seen telling protesters: “Do you know what the cops told us today? They were like, ‘We’re gonna push them down by you, because you can deal with them, and then we’re going to leave.’ ”

It is unclear to what extent such a plan was carried out, and Balch insisted in a lengthy Facebook post the next day that the militia members “never agreed to this.” By 11:45 p.m., two protesters were shot to death and a third was wounded by a teenager from Illinois who had answered the call to take up arms and protect the city.

Read the whole story...it is actually kind of fascinating. Balch basically denounces the cops actions and changes his stance mid protest to try and protect everyone from the cops. Apparently his Anti-Government Feelings won the day if you believe his account.

Balch wrote that his group never agreed to that plan and “switched to a protect the public stance, including BLM (Black Lives Matter), Antifa and the public at large.”

Balch also said he witnessed a scene, widely circulated on social media, in which an unidentified officer in an armored vehicle labeled “Sheriff” tossed a bottle of water to Rittenhouse before the shooting. In the video, the officer can be heard saying, “Hey, thank you guys again” and “We appreciate you guys, we really do” while other officers ordered nearby protesters to leave.

In the post, Balch described the offer of water as mocking, accusing the police of earlier “gassing” militia members who were running an aid station.

Wrote Balch: “KPD made a conscious decision to abandon the people of Kenosha to people they felt justified in using machines and weapons of war against. And were going to **** them off and drive them at us and let the chips fall where they may.”

Former Kenosha Ald. Kevin Mathewson — a leader in the Kenosha Guard militia — told Wisconsin Watch in an email that while Police Chief Daniel Miskinis and Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth publicly rejected help from armed citizens following the deadly shooting, officers on the scene “welcomed us well and thanked us all night.”

“I’m seeing people refer to this as the start of some ‘civil war’ in certain communities,” Balch wrote. “I don’t know about that but it’s even clearer to me after the fact that we need to unite under a common cause and stop letting them trick us into killing one another and destroying one another’s lives.”

Balch later sought to distance himself from the boogaloo movement in a separate post following SPLC’s probe of his social media history, calling it “wrong” and “misguided” to have promoted racism and Nazi ideology.

On Sept. 2, Balch removed his Facebook cover photo which had featured an igloo — a symbol of the boogaloo movement. The page was no longer visible as of Sept. 3.

To me it looks like the KPD basically set it all up. They fought the protesters, harassed the militia (though way less) before engaging them and getting their help and then sent the protesters their way knowing the conflict would erupt and they wouldnt be the cause of it. The Left would blame the militia, the Right would blame the Antifa/BLM and the cops become the heroes protecting everyone from civil war. Would have worked too if not for that murdering kid!

They have done this elsewhere as well. There is videos of them allowing the groups to basically get nose to nose and then turning their back like prison guards so they can fight. It is ridiculous. They allow tensions to rise to a fever pitch and then skirt their duty and let the battle commence. They dont care who gets hurt as long as no one dares say a bad thing about them.

There is clearly coordination among the cops to make the situations worse where there were large protests. They are one more way the dupes are being duped. If you think the police were out in force during any of these demonstrations solely to protect life and property and keep the peace I have a bridge to sell you. The cops were actively trying to make the situation worse because they know the protesters did not come looking to be violent and so they were, more or less, entirely unarmed. The cops knew they could act with impunity because the protesters would not, and in most cases could not, fight back. One of the reasons I don't attend/take part in protests is I do not have the maturity or selflessness of most of those who do. There is no way in hell I am putting myself in a position to be attacked by cops when I am behaving legally and peacefully without being prepared to stop that threat in any way possible.

Portland's the same. The cops will tell the Proud Boys where the protesters will be gathering, so they can head there, or where and when the cops are going to start arresting people, so the Proud Boys can get out and avoid getting locked up also.

It's a perfect strategy for the po-po.

1. Steer protesters towards militia vigilantes
2. Step back and let the inevitable violence occur
3. Blame far-left Antifa/BLM mobs for the violence
4. Allow Trump & Blue Lives Matter trolls to say, "See?" and scream about "LAW & ORDER!"
...
5. Profit

The only problem that could happen is that the militias who hate the government might just start killing cops too. There is only so long the "Establishment" can control the "Anti-Establishment" types ya know?

The people driving the conservative bus have been nurturing and inciting the right wing nutjob mob and are now losing control of it. Imagine a group like The Lincoln Project campaigning for a D candidate.

Cops WANT this behavior. They are stupid enough to believe the violence will never be directed AT them because they have the same beliefs and viewpoints as the so-called "militias." The cops just have their behavior sanctioned by the state. The inevitable end to this is not something a lot of cops are going to like. We are headed down a very dark path.

I would suggest to the Multnomah County Sheriffs that they try something new: ARREST THE F-ERS!

But then again, cops don’t arrest friends and family.

As I said before, these people who loudly proclaim that all they want is be left alone to do whatever it is they want to do, sure have no problems inserting themselves into others' lives who may want the very same thing.

I guess other people aren't allowed to have their freedums

It was always bullsh-t. We've known it from the very first issue they argle bargled about, abortion. Talk about a situation where they had the choice they just could not interfere with somebody else's.

it was never about small government or freedom, it was about seeing everyone ground under their garbage obsolete religion and economic theory. The right has always been aggressively intrusive.
