I've been posting about this for years now in the various "cops" threads. I believe that for a generation at least white supremacists have been filling up police departments all over the country.

We've evolved just enough as a nation to realize dragging a black man out of a jail cell while he awaits trial and hanging him is too much, but for decades a cop shooting someone was more or less tolerated as unfortunate but sometimes unavoidable. What better way for the KKK and other white supremacists to continue with modern day lynchings then to do it under the guise of a police uniform?

There can really be no alternative explanation to the unbelievable disparity in the rate of men of color being shot and killed by white cops than that of white men. I have said for years now that when unarmed white guys being shot by black cops is roughly equal to the population adjusted rates of those of unarmed black me, I will believe it is a "training" issue.

We all want to live safely in our communities. And there really are bad people out there that we'd like the government to protect society from. But America needs to learn how to separate the myths from reality. Our law enforcement system is hopelessly broken.

You should get off that. The person is not the illness. We are fighting a disease that infects America, we are not fighting America. That distinction alone is probably worth 5% of the electorate.

Every time our side says "America is racist" or "America is sexist" or "America sucks" we lose votes. It matters. Cut the crap.

The right is racist. The right is sexist. The right sucks. They are the virus. America is the patient. We are the vaccine.

The lead attorney representing Breonna Taylor's family says Louisville prosecutors offered Jamarcus Glover — her ex-boyfriend who is facing multiple drug-related charges — a plea deal that listed Taylor, who was shot and killed by police in her own home in March, as a co-defendant in the case.

Sam Aguiar posted a picture of the purported plea deal on Facebook Monday.

"[Jefferson County] Commonwealth Attorney Tom Wine tried to give the Elliott Ave. defendants a plea deal on July 13 which would have identified Breonna Taylor as a 'co-defendant' for actions related to the arrests on April 22, 2020," Aguiar said in the post. "[W]hen was Breonna Taylor ever a co-defendant? And oh by the way, the cops killed her a month and a half before April 22 and four months to the day before the date of this effort to get a plea deal."

Aguiar added, "This goes to show how desperate Tom Wine ... is to justify the wrongful search of Breonna Taylor’s home, her killing and arrest of Kenneth Walker."

From the "unintended consequences" file.... remember how police were so ecstatic that people were sharing their Ring/Nest/smart-camera doorbell footage to deter crime?

The honeymoon is over. FBI concerned that these always-on video recording devices could be used nefariously, like... for finding out if there are cops on your doorstep when they try to no-knock warrant search your house.

Specifically, they can offer an early warning when officers are approaching a house to search it; give away officer locations in a standoff; or let the owner capture pictures of law enforcement, "presenting a risk to their present and future safety."

Just imagine how insulated you would have to be from real human beings to have green-lighted that?

Note also that police departments now commemorate their operations like military units. Talk about on the nose for the militarization of law enforcement.

Do you think Disney would actually say anything about it? They won't go after the MPD, but they might go after whichever company they use to make their challenge tokens, because that company is making a profit off of their image.

Regardless, challenge tokens in the police forces (likely all across the country now) don't shock me in the least. They've been hiring former military as a matter of practice for a couple decades now.
 
Disney would license Baby Simba as the face of Zyklon-B provided they controlled indemnity and arbitration.
