What the **** was that call?

Terrible play call with the season on the line. But that being said, that was a very fun game. Michigan really needs to clean up the small things next week if they want to win the title. (Well, before the NCAA takes this game away for violations.)

I hate Michigan as much as anyone, but no man born with a living soul was rooting against them tonight.

Nah man. Fuck Michigan. I've never seen such a bunch of babies. They have some of the largest structural advantages of any school and they still find a way to have a persecution complex.

Sorry michvandal.

I *tried* to watch UW-Texas, but a 8:45 kickoff is impossible. Pretty sure I was out by the early 3rd quarter.

The game ended well past midnight. Closer to 1am than midnight.

In contrast, the NFL games kick off at 8:15 and are done my midnight.

CFB still has a massive game time problem. I was pretty angry to see an old NFL trick during the Michigan game- one of the teams scored, commercial for a few min, kick off, and then another series of commercials. It was a good ~6 min delay in the game for what should have been 3 min max, 1:30 nominal. Reminded me when we went to see a game in person and there is a clock for the commercials now- more than once the commercial delay in the middle of the game was more than 4 min. Besides what it does to break the flow of the game, it really takes it out of the crowd to just sit there waiting.

It's ok. In the SEC world, Finebalm has said on Get Up this morning that the championship would NOT be tainted. So the world is getting better, LOL.

BTW, it's not so much the persecution thing that's the problem, it's the lack of reliable results in the sports world that is the worst thing. Especially with the hype. Not just football, but many sports. Drives us crazy.

So Finebam made a really odd comment later in First Take. He mentioned that after the loss, Alabama sent out a demand for money to support the football team as they don't have enough to compete.

huh.

Kind of reminds me of a certain politician who does the same when charges are brought against him.

I quite agree that every Power 5 team and Notre Dame is "college" in name only. These are professional teams using academic institutions as a fig leaf. None of them belong in the NCAA.

But, there are still degrees, and as ugly and gross and hypocritical as Michigan is -- and is it ever -- they are still virgin pure when compared with the dog sh-t of the SEC.

Here’s an interesting article on tv breaks. I did not know the referee is allowed to wave off a TV timeout. Makes sense they utilize the TD-ad-kickoff-ad sequence in that case because they can stack the breaks for what’s essentially a 2 for 1 without having to worry about killing momentum from a big play.

I was curious about the game last night, and struggled to find the data. The kick off was supposed to be 8:45, but I don't think it happened until closer to 9pm. But the last play was 12:42. So the game was just about 3:45.

The Rose Bowl ended at 8:45, since it was OT. That kick off was 5:10, so the game was 3:35 with OT.
