Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Navy is going to pass WMU for the Cotton Bowl, even if WMU goes 13-0

Certainly seems like it. Especially since Temple is a harder opponent than Ohio and Navy still has a game after this.

Only thing that could keep WMU above is if they give them a extra bounus for staying undefeated.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Oh ****. I completely missed that. :o

Yeah, that would carry some weight.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Playoff:

1. Bama
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Washington
5. Michigan
6. Wisconsin

Best argument I've seen for keeping it at 4.

What are the odds that in the next ten years Alabama is found to have systematically and with institutional assistance violated NCAA rules to such an extent that all of Saban's titles are vacated?

Saban is at the point where he doesn't need to cheat anymore. He's operating on a different plane than everyone else.

He doesn't need to pay kids to come to Alabama. They come to Alabama to get to the NFL. And he has a great track record of sending kids to the NFL.

Plenty of other factory schools send their kids to the NFL, and they all pay their kids one way or another.

They're cheating, they've just managed to not get caught yet.

How long did it take to jail a Kennedy?

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Remember the old Jerry Tarkanian line- "The NCAA is so mad at Kentucky they're going to give Cleveland State another year of probation."

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Cheating would have been a bold move by Saban since they were on probation from 2009 to 2012.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

If I'm good enough to choose to get to the NFL through Tuscaloosa or Columbus the former better have something good.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

That UNC still has an athletic department at all tells me Alabama will be just fine.

Indiana fires Kevin Wilson because of "personality clashes with adminstation." I assume he's been making fun of Tom Crean somehow.

Former Indiana player told ESPN on Thursday that he & at least 5 other IU players interviewed about Wilson’s treatment of players

That's clearly a Top Ten all time shot at the NCAA. Another for the list:

"If this current NCAA administration planned the Normandy invasion, we would have landed in Portugal." -- Bobby Knight

Those are great lines but it's somewhat telling that the two quoted are among the worst cheaters in history. :p

To be fair, the Tark line is amazing. It's just so perfectly apt. Knight's line, unsurprisingly, is just more You Mad from, at heart, a stupid jock.

Former IU player suffered concussion in practice b4 '15 season. His father said son was rushed back to workouts & symptoms went "haywire"

I understand to a Dakotan the locale is heaven on Earth and the dialect isn't fingernails on a chalkboard...

Dude, I've been to Columbus. That ain't Heaven either; and to a North Dakotan everyone else has a peculiar dialect and accent. :D
