I'd love to disagree, but at this point, it's as likely as anything. At which point, it just becomes the WCHA without of Tech and UAA (plus a couple other teams I know). What did Tech and UAA do to deserve that? UAA has been on the rise and a team who could beat any other team any given weekend, and I know that Tech's been in or near the basement a while, but if the issue is commitment to hockey, Tech just made their new coach one of the highest paid in the league right before this all went down. This is going from cold shoulder to slap in the face rather quickly.

Quite frankly, none of these teams deserve any of this BS. As I stated previously, I rather had the WCHA stay together with out UofM and UW. I have no ill towards UAA, MTU or any of the CCHA schools. This whole deal is an unfortunate nightmare.

Not saying it doesn't make things more difficult for the WCHA if there are any positives to take from it, it means less teams, allows for a less congested well... everything, opens up the chance for expansion SLIGHTLY, and opens up more room for UAH. And BSU was ok without having a single Minnesota conference opponent before, now that they've only got Mankato they're gonna fold?

Sadly one thing that I could see happening is so many former WCHA teams have so many teams that they're going to try to schedule in OOC regularly that teams may almost have identical schedules every year, maybe play one eastern opponent or try to get into Alaska for a couple games just to open up those extra games. I mean just speculating, but SCSU and MN/MSU-M/BSU, tUMD and MN/BSU/MSU-M, UND and BSU (and MN if they can make that work), UNO and MSU-M, BSU and MN, MSU-M and MN, the all-MN tourney... that's a lot of games, and only MN has those extra games to work with. And while UW I don't think will be as focused on old WCHA schools as MN, they're certainly got the games, and I can't see UND, SCSU, tUMD, BSU, or MSU-M saying no to playing UW more.

plain and simple you're an idiot...his post was based on the fact that BSU & MSUM becoming #9 & #10 to the NCHC...therefore UAA and MTU are the only ones left out.

I hate to admit this, but I actually agree with you on this. Inviting BSU and MSU-Ma and leaving UAA and MTU would not make much sense. But, if the powers that be saw this forum, maybe they would hold out on the latter out of spite. :D See supra.

I can see what is happening.... This is all an end around run by the schools to get rid of Bruce McLeod! Minnesota and Wisconsin leave for the Big Ten, the NCHC forms with five WCHA schools and Miami. They then add a sixth WCHA school, SCSU, and Western. So, in theory, Miami and Western just took the spots of Minnesota and Wisconsin. In a couple of weeks, BSU, MSU-Mankato, Tech and Anchorage will all be offered an invite to the NCHC and all the WCHA schools are back together!

Of course, that still leaves Northern, Lake State, Ferris State, Bowling Green, UAH, Fairbanks and Notre Dame out there.

And the CCHA gets a new commissioner to boot (as the new WCHA)!

I'm really glad to see Tech with NMU and LSSU, so hopefully the moving around is done and we can start moving forward.

It was a joke. You really didn't have to go straight to insults and name calling. I did miss the point of the post he was responding to, so I apologize for that, but you could point it out civilly.

I think the reason I missed the original point is that the idea of Mankato NOT being left out is inconceivable to me. We are on a downward slide that shows no sign of reversing. Even members of the Blue Line Club that I've talked to are feeling like the administration here doesn't care about the fate of the hockey program.

All day everyday Donald. FYI - this guy loves college hockey before almost all else. You can all hate but I have a lot of respect for uaafanblog!!! How often do you talk to Goon or DG on the phone?

I think we have a thick and thin relationship but this guy is a class act. I trust Donald. He has an open invite to stay at my house for hockey games or whatever.

He has way more dedication than you!
