CCHA teams will join WCHA

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

Might as well involve the CCCP and the KHL. Quite a tragedy involving the team from Yaroslavl. They won't field a team in the KHL this year but they are holding a spot for them.

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

Isn't the UAH admin trying to get rid of their hockey team? Seems like you have a bigger problem then just conference affiliation.

Really does suck for Huntsville, this is probably their opening but who would invite them with the current state of their program?

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

I like the WCHA fans that talked like the WCHA had extended "the olive branch" to CCHA teams. Now, if Bowling Green indeed accepts, there will be 5 CCHA and 4 WCHA teams in the new league. In all actuality, that "olive branch" went out when it became apparent that St Cloud was clearly looking to the NCHC and that the chances of the remaining CCHA teams and those from the AHA were far apart in their discussions.

With the St. Cloud and WMU deciding to be UND and DU's *****es for the foreseeable future, there really is not other choice than to merge the remains of the 2 leagues. I think the idea of the CCHA teams joining the WCHA is soley because presumably, they will keep the WCHA name.

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

Eff BGSU ... disinvite them. Toledo is worse than Detroit; having to be anywhere near it sounds toxic to me.
where's all of your hate for Toledo coming from?? If you was a michigan fan who's been pulled over just inside of the Ohio line for nothing more than having Michigan plates, I would understand it. But you're in Alaska.... not seeing the logic behind this.

It's just another slowly-going decrepit post-industrial crap hole?

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

Oh, and everyone loves Anchorage...
Actually, Anchorage is pretty awesome. Visited for what I thought would be the only time, only to end up going back the next year. Great city to visit, the people are awesome, I don't know if I've ever been somewhere as scenic, and plenty of stuff to go see during the day when the games aren't going on. I would love to go back someday, but I'm waiting for the opportunity to visit in the summer.

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

and that's different from the rest of the newer look WCHA how??

Marquette doesn't belong to that category. Fairbanks certainly doesn't. Um ... I think lots of Minnesotan's might argue that Bemidji is comparatively pristine. Even Mankato's small scale industry doesn't begin to compare. Then there's Houghton and Sault St. Marie ... don't think either was ever industrial in any measure (i could be wrong as their local manufacturing histories are mostly unknown to me).

So um .. completely different.
