CCHA teams will join WCHA

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

80% might if questioned who they root for might say "The Huskies" in passing. What percentage could tell you we're in a conference with Colorado College? Hell, I don't think 50% could name the conference, or might not even be able to come up with Wisconsin as a same conference team. But my bigger point wasn't what people say in town, its that those who travel for SCSU games almost ALWAYS went to the school. What % of those in green and black at the Final 5 attended UND?
You make a somewhat valid point. I speak as a Gopher fan who never attended the UofM.

That being said, I was just giving you guys a hard:p

Exactly. When a goofer talks smart to me because of my Black and Cardinal sweater, I like to tell them when I graduated from SCSU and then ask them when they graduated from the University of Minnesota? Almost always the response is that they never attended the University of Minnesota or they don't respond at all.

Its also somewhat akin to the same scenario when a goofer tells me that SCSU "stole" its St. C logo from the Montreal Canadians for which my response is . . . "You mean like that gold M you are wearing that was stolen from the University of Michigan or the University of Missouri?"

To be fair, it is a lot more difficult to graduate from Minnesota than St Cloud State. ;)

Poor response. Minnesota, Michigan and Missouri all have different "M"'s. If anything Michigan and Missouri have the closest "M"'s.

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

Minnesota is easier to get into though. :)
I know of several people, including myself, who were accepted to Minnesota, but didn't get in to St. Cloud.

I don't know if this is around anymore but did you get accepted to the general college of the liberal arts college? :)

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

This all seems so familiar...oh yeah...it's your average Friday night at the Joe every spring with Michigan fans. I could care less if you root for a university that you didn't attend, but when you start chirping at opposing fans you are automatically a tool in my book.

They all stole them from Miami and changed the color ;)

I wen't to both the UM and SCSU. In like programs, the curriculum more not more rigorous at one school or the other. But the UM degree is a more prestigious piece of paper. It's really a silly argument...UM is a major research university and nothing in the state can compare.

I don't think either school offers a general college anymore. I know the UM closed their's a few years ago.

Re: CCHA teams will join WCHA

Considering the size of the schools, the state-wide presence, and the shear volume of alumni, I would suggest that the Big Ten teams are horrible travelers, with the exception of Minnesota. People don't even watch Ohio State hockey in Columbus, let alone on the road. Michigan's fans are almost ALL "Wallmart Wolverines" (this probably applies to EVERY Big Ten school . . . ):

MSU and Wisconsin fans used to have traveling armies which rivaled the Sioux and Minnesota -- but with the growth of Badger and Spartan basketball, the respective fans have made little attempt to travel for hockey.

So in comparison to allegedly larger schools with larger fan bases, SCSU does pretty darn well. Better, straight up, than probably most schools.

The intersting thing to me, about the new WCHA, is that most of the schools in the 2013 version of the league are Hockey First schools. Its a league filled with schools dedicted to ice hockey as the flagship sport at each institution. Hockey is my favorite sport, by a long shot, so this makes me happy. And SCSU is a very good hockey-first school, with a good rink, good fans, and solid instituional support. Just my opinion.

Obviously you didn't graduate from either or pass your english courses because that whole post is just ridiculous.

Amen bro.

However a word of caution regarding SCSU. Yesterday the SCSU President candidly discussed this topic, amongst others, at a public event in which he said that he "wasn't sure which conference SCSU would be in" beginning in 2013, but that he "hoped to know soon, maybe next week."

You need to read these boards more because I already said earlier in the week SCSU would announce they are joining the NCHC within a few weeks.....:D

If all he said was he didn't know what conference they were going to be in he didn't say much.....now if he would have NCHC then he would be in trouble....:D

Not to long ago Potter said SCSU is 100% committed to the WCHA. Many boosters, fans, and alumni have come to grips with staying the the WCHA. But a few large donors are very angry and they blame President Potter. I'm in favor of staying put.

Don't worry; Harry Bailey will show up and put Potter in his place.

In response to your first question, no.

With respect to your next statement, I prefer candor and thought it refreshing that his report implies that the situation remains uncertain. I think we all know that, so why deny it. He spoke the truth.

And you might generally describe those gathered accurately as boosters including myself.
