Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

And it was nice to see the second line make an appearance, and a BIG appearance, yesterday. Kudos to everybody...another day, another trophy. Three more games and we bring the Big Boy home. :D

The 2nd line is now Tuominnen, Wong and Corny . . . and they've just recently reunited . . . there's no reason this line can't produce more . . . and I think they will.

I wish that Wong would shoot a little more . . . good things seem to happen when she does! She kind of reminds me of Friddy when Friddy was a freshman . . . . not quite certain of herself out there . . . she could skate harder to the play (almost like she's a bit tentative to mix it up) but man, when she does she's a special player! Hopefully this line will see more success this year and that both Wong and Corny will start out next season with more confidence!!

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

Yesterday will be a huge confidence boost to Wong and Cournoyer coming home for the UNH game. Playing on Saara's line can only help, too. It was nice to see Audrey find the net. She works so hard and it's got to be frustrating to have a little scoring drought now and then. But I'd love to see Jessica put more points up like she was doing earlier in the season.

Take this young team with so much talent and add our top five players coming back next year and it sure looks like a promising season, huh? How do you decide who plays on whose line? A nice problem for Coach Miller to work on!

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

I sure hope we can draw big numbers on Saturday afternoon.. there's 4+1/2 days left to talk this game up.. on Facebook, USCHO, and around town to people who follow the men's team especially.. with the playoff doubleheader we have to get 1500 on Saturday.. OK, wishful thinking but who knows, ;)

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

Lick gets more abuse because we've seen him longer. The calls that I thought were missed more often on Sunday were those made (or not) by Elam. At times, I find myself missing Shepherd. Yes, I'm probably insane.:o

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

I gotta ask.. which of the Gopher fans set the trap outside that kept Perrault out of building for the WCHA Final Faceoff tourney? I thought he was considered the top women's official these days.

Doesn't he sometimes <s>screw up</s> work men's games?

If you find out who did it, see if you can also find out where we can send donations. I'd like to show my appreciation.

I haven't seen him do a men's game but I think he was in an early season men's box score but then he was in Duluth for a women's series the next week so not really sure :D It was just strange to see three games and he wasn't part of any of them.

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

The refs in the WCHA men's games do not display their names on the back, but I do have "the list" if you are interested. I can tell you for sure that Lick is not listed as a ref for the mens current season.

Most of us have seen enough games to recognize MOST of the referees, unless someone new shows up.

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

2 days away from the drop of the puck...and boy am I excited!! Lets go ladies, lets put together 60 min of unbelievable hockey....and FINISH STRONG!!

So proud of all of you.......

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

It's been better the last couple years with Kevin Pates writing the real "articles" about the women's team. Anyone could still write their away game stuff by looking at box scores.

Re: Bulldogs 09-10 Season

FROZEN FOUR!!!

UNH played the Bulldogs pretty evenly in what was probably not either team's best game of the season, but a win is a win and the Dogs are two games away from their fifth national title. Never would've believed it, but I'm glad to be wrong this time.
