I don't want to alarm anyone, but K-Rod just threw a scoreless inning in a one run game. I am not making this up.
Wait, what? Is this 2011? :p

I see they tried the 'blow the game in the 1st inning' approach again tonight but decided to mix it up a little by taking the lead. Let's see how long that lasts.

Axford and Parra combine for a scoreless 8th. Big Jim closing? Loe?

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Jim Henderson pitches the 9th and promptly rings up a blown save.

Ugh.

Once the rosters open up, can we call up every minor league pitcher just to give them a go at bullpen work? Can't be any worse.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Honestly this is fricken hilarious with the 23rd blown save of the year

You know it's bad when everyone expects a blown save and is surprised when an actual save happens.

I'd run a position player out there to pitch the 9th.

BA said last night if the Brewers had an average number of blown saves this year (relative to the league), they'd be 2 games out of the wild card. Hope that doesn't ruin anyone's day. :p

Fiers and Rogers <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/shutdowns-not-soon-for-fiers-rogers-sd6j3ov-166994636.html">will still pitch for awhile</a>.

First W of the year for Estrada, and a save for Axford.

Marcum will be back this weekend.

HOLY COW!!

The Cubs suck.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Marcum was put on waivers - his waiver period expires at noon on Thursday... which is when he's scheduled to pitch next. Trade deadline for playoff elibigility is 10:59 pm Friday. Hopefully they can get something for him. I would not be surprised to see K-Rod go either, since 2011 K-Rod has been kind enough to visit the past few weeks, and that's gotta look good to a lot of teams down the stretch.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

6 1/2 games out of the Wild Card, with 9 of the next 16 games against teams in front of them. Just saying...........

if this team makes the playoffs, I'm not sure I could handle watching them, with that bullpen. :D

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

Six games back of the second Wild Card spot. Who would have thought that the upcoming Braves series may mean something to both teams.

Got tickets for Monday's game. Sitting right behind the Bravo's bench. Taking NMUKat82 with (bought the tix for her birthday).

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

make that 5 games back... they've won 15 of their last 19.

anyone else remember when BA said on the air he'd shave his head if they got within 1 game of the Wild Card?

btw, <a href="http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2012/09/08/sheets-to-pitch-in-sim-game-conditions-monday/">sounds like Ben Sheets is out of the rotation</a>, unless someone gets hurt. So we will not be seeing him make a start in Milwaukee.

and Robin Yount got his 3,000th hit 20 years ago today.

Football?

It's still Brewers season! Good win tonight.

Re: Brewers 2011 - Yo...Marcum for the post-season or jen may get a little Greinke

.500!!! and 4 games out. :D

Nice outing by Marco Estrada - didn't let the big inning hurt him (as it so often has).

The defense has been fantastic in this series (wait.. what?? :))

Holy bleep!

A long way to go still. Only 20 games to play and we've got 2 teams to jump (LAD, 1 game out; Pi-rats 2.5) plus the Phils which we're tied with and the Dbacks only a game behind us.

It reminds of a scene from one of my favorite movies, Major League: "Well, there's only one thing left to do..."

2013 schedule released. Brewers open at home vs Rockies 4/1. Season ends with 7 on the road (3 vs Atl, 4 vs NYM). Interleague opponents include home/away vs Texas (2 games each), H vs Oakland, H vs LAA, A vs Seattle, and H/A vs Twinkies (2 games each) (also A vs Astros, but that doesn't really count to me...yet).

Interesting breakdown.
19 games against the 4 divisional opponents, 7/6 games against the rest of the National league (6 with Miama, Atlanta, Dodgers, Padres, 7 with the rest). 4 with Texas and Minnesota, 3 with the rest of AL West. Not that surprised but what amazes me is the chose to do 19 with divisional opponents instead of doing 18 and having 7 with everyone else in the NL.
