Depressing note after examing the Angels/Brewers trade with Greinke/prospects. The Los Angeles Angels used their compensatory pick for losing Mark Texiera to draft Mike Trout one pick before the Brewers took Eric Arnett. That pick should have been the Brewers for losing CC Sabathia...instead of getting Max Walla in the 2nd round...

Shaun Marcum had <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/164680116.html">an "excellent bullpen session"</a>.

Parra is out, but not on the DL, with shoulder irritation.

Matchups for Cards series -
Friday: Wolf vs. Kelly
Saturday: Rogers vs. Wainwright
Sunday: Estrada vs. Lohse

Please do not embarrass yourselves on national TV, Brewers. :p

Its about time we had a guy like Fiers emerge on the pitching side of things...seems very rare for the Brewers to develop a pitchers, especially one drafted in the 22nd round. I mean other than Gallardo, who else has even developed into a useful starting pitcher for the Brewers?

I thought is was really classy of the fans to really back Fiers in the 8th inning, you would have thought it was the 9th inning in a game 7 series the way they were into it.

well, that was a fun game. holy cow, swept the Reds. Who are these guys? Another save for Big Jim Henderson.

SG: last homegrown starter that was productive for the Brewers (besides Gallardo) that comes to mind is... Ben Sheets. That's been quite awhile and I can't even think of another recent one that was good for any stretch of time. Good pitchers must be developing somewhere, but it isn't here.

Brewers are figuring out <a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brewers/brewers-contemplate-shutting-fiers-down-776ee1t-165685036.html">if and when to shut down Fiers</a>.

Marcum is making a rehab start tonight (was supposed to start yesterday, but it was rained out).

Zack Greinke hasn't won yet as an Angel.

I hope so too. I always think back to Cal Eldred who started out 11-1 or something like that with a sub-2 ERA. Never was quite as good after that.

Variety is the spice of life. Now the starting pitching sucks and not the bullpen. :) This road trip is brutal.

I don't want to alarm anyone, but K-Rod just threw a scoreless inning in a one run game. I am not making this up.
