Another random legal question:

Corey was given the option to post 20k bail or his Canadian passport. Max was given only the option of 10k or jail. Is this normal to let international defendants post no money as part of bail so they can't leave? If so wouldn't it be fair for US defendants to wear a GPS bracelet instead of posting bail?

I could be wildly off base, being a business student I only understand contract law haha.

I'm confused by what the question is. She's accused Nicastro of rape, she will have to testify in court. Nicastro has the right under the Confrontation Clause (6th amendment) to face his accuser (to have his attorney cross examine her and try to damage her credibility.) What will happen is if she doesn't want to testify-the case is over.

Are you asking about what stage the alleged victim has to make an appearance? Trial.

What I'm asking is, at what point do victims typically decide they don't want to testify/go through a trial? I know it can obviously vary, just didn't know if there were any stats on it.

He could be the guiltiest man on Earth, and his attorney would tell advise him to say not guilty. Guilty pleas are only for idiots, or plea bargains.

I don't know if idiots would be the right term, but it probably doesn't happen too often.

Fed tweeted that RPI is scheduled to be at Agganis next year.

So we would have: Beanpot, RPI, @UND (for 2???), i'm guessing Harvard at Agganis

JD (or other eagles) - Has there been talk about BC playing North Dakota? I'm wondering if this could be the type of deal where they play BC and BU on the same weekend (kinda like Denver this year).

Not sure. I believe BC and UND are all square so to speak in terms of return trips. Harvard played two at UND this year, so perhaps it will be one at Agganis and one at Bright.

Yup. Once Notre Dame joins HE we will have more out of conference games available. We already have 4 top teams scheduled.

Well, what is the point of bail? It's to prevent people from running right? And giving them a financial penalty for running. Where is Corey going to go without a passport? He can't cross into Canada anymore without one thanks to the law changes.

That makes sense... which would mean that BU plays 2 out there, and then UND makes the trip twice, playing one and one each time.

Bud Boomer had no problem crossing over.

Hey eric, thanks for fixing that this morning.

(hope I didn't offend slurpees with this post)

Yeah, he can't go home. But there are 3.8 million sq miles he can go without enduring the financial burden of paying interest on a 5 figure loan, unlike the US citizen. I guess if it achieves its intended purpose its fine, just doesnt seem entirely fair to me.

1) There aren't any stats on this, but usually when a person actually has the guts to stand up and admit they were a victim of sexual assault, they're usually willing to take it to trial and testify.
2) They are idiots. Basically, you're going from a small percentage chance that even though you're guilty as sin that you'll be found innocent versus pleading guilty and changing the percentage down to 0. Why ever plead guilty if you're going to get jail/prison time.

Re: Boston Universtiy 2011-2012 Part IV: Dont stop fighting til the fight is done!

Like if someone were to repeatedly compare a car accident to multiple sex attacks?
It's never been proven that there weren't multiple sex attacks against nuns happening in that car when it was hit by a T. Also, I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but if you take the name "Nicastro", and sub in "Eaves" for the first 5 letters and then delete the "tro" you get "Eaves". Freaky stuff. This will all be a Nick Cage movie one day and all the BC trolls will get what's coming to them.
